Enough already with the over-paid civil servants in LI. People outside of NY don't believe me when I tell them about the salaries we pay to these guys.

A cop should never gross more than 85k and a teacher...maybe 70k. Keep things in line with the rest of the country.

Charlie Scarlata never did a days work in his life. He worked at the Oceanside landfill and ate pretzels and chips in the scalehouse with his lackies.

The rest of the country doesn't pay the same taxes as the people on LI!!! A teacher in MD/VA may be able to survive off of 70k a year but if they were making that in NY, they'd have to clip coupons to eat! AND with the increase of gangs on LI, the police deserve to get paid well too!

So the police should be rewarded for the increase in crime?

The elections are held in June each year for one of the five commissioner posts. I think it is the 3rd Tuesday or Thursday, it is governed by the Nassau County Civil Divisions Act. The locations are a kind of Scalarta family secret, but rumor has it is held in one of the firehouses and are attended by about 35 people each year and the father, the head of the local, Republican party picks them each year.
If anyone is interested in running for commissioner, be happy to explain the rules. [email protected]
