Appers from the article that Ms Brown was making a left turn, and there is a no left turn sign at the exit of that lot. Wonder if she received a summons? She had to be going west if she struck a west bound van. Too bad that someone who was just too lazy to go around the block took the life of such a young man.

Chuck was a great person who overcame many feats emotionally in high school, it's extremely sad to see as a an old friend of his that a life he just began to love, was cut short by a fatal mistake. We will all miss you man, you were a great person and always made me laugh. I'll always remember you.

I always remember seeing him walking around the halls of my school or just seeing him in general. He always looked like a happy guy. Although I never really talked to him(b/c hes not in my grade), I always heard what a funny and kind guy he was both in & out of school. Its so sad that something like this has happened. My condolences go out to his family& friends. rest in peace charlie. may angels lead you in

Ms. Brown did make the left turn but the van side-swiped her. She did not hit the van as the article very erroneously states. I think we should reserve judgment for the man upstairs and not assume that someone was lazy if you did not yourself witness the accident. The entire family is saddened and shaken by this tragic accident and grieves for the Agricola family. Condolescences go out to them. The families of everyone involved have been affected by this terrible tragedy.

This is sad for all and I wish the best for Charlies family. It is clearly posted in the bank parking lot to not make a left. When I visit that bank, I witness it regularly.

The woman was pulling out of a lot and she DID NOT have the right-of-way.

We've all experienced idiot drivers like this one who make turns or pull out in front of other vehicles when they don't have the right-of-way.

I pass that bank twice a week and constantly see people making a left out of the lot even though it clearly says not to. I hope the police do something about it now. It is close to impossible to make a left over 4 lanes of traffic. It's horrible that someone being lazy and not wanting to make a u-turn was the cause of Charlie's death.

R.I.P. Charlie - I know a lot of people who were very close with you. You will never be forgetten.

I am horrified that the police are saying no charges to be filed. You have a car that made an illegal left hand turn and a van that was obviously going way over the 30mph speed limit and together they took an innocent life. I saw the aftermath of the accident, after the van was side swiped it jumped the curb, destroyed a tree, hit a parked Chevy Nova that was next to the muffler shop, the Nova was knocked clear accross the parking lot and hit another car and that car was knocked out onto the street. A life was taken and they are going to let the driver of the van get away with reckless speeding especialy in that weather.

He was a pedestrian. I think the headline is therefore quite misleading. Gee, there's a shock.

I too saw the "crime scene" after the accident, my parked car was stuck in the crime tape. So I decided to check Google Earth to get an idea of how far the speeding van traveled after the first side swipe and when it hit the kid and so on. The van traveled 175 feet after the sideswipe and mounted the curb, then hit a tree, sign post and parking meter, it then continued into the parking lot of the muffler shop. By the time the van hit the kid and the Nova it had traveled almost 200 feet, the nove and the kid were sent accross the parking lot alomost 100 feet where the nova hit a parked toyta hard enough for it to land in the middle of Railrad Ave(30 feet over a curbing)In order to get sideswiped, hit a curb, a tree, a sign, a parking meter, an innoncent boy, a Chevy Nove and hit that hard enough for that nova to go far enough and fast enough to knock a parked car another 30 feet, my friends and I asked a friend who is an accident analist for Gieco, and he says that van had to be going bewteen 70 and 80 mph, on rainy foggy night. Sorry but that man should be charged just as if someone in a drag race kills someone. Or I hope the family sues the balls off the driver or his company.

You don't need to be IN a vehicle to be involved in a motor vehicle accident moron! Pedistrians and bicycles are involved in motor vehicle accidents if they come in some sort of contact with a motor vehicle.

I agree with a few others, that there was an illegal left turn and speeding in the other car. In the weather we had, apparently getting to where you want to the fastest even if illegal than someone eles life.

Rest in peace young man.

Anything that comes in contact with a motor vehicle (Eg: pedestrian, bicycle, or other car)is a motor vehicle accident!!

An illegal left turn, and speeding in the other car and no tickets. Seems about right for the police in this area. Now if this young man was hanging out on a street corner, he would have been busted by those same cops in a heartbeat!

Rest in Peace

I agree, although I dont know Ms Brown, I dont think she is an idiot. What I do believe is that she made a lazy illegal turn, with her child in the car too boot! How would she have felt if this were her child. Yes the other car should not have been speeding, but not for her having made an illegal left turn, Chuck would be amoung us today. The woman made a mistake. A big mistake, but own up to it. Don't blame it on the other driver.
