It is still disgusting that the mother bear had to be shot and killed. Maybe it wasn't the shooters fault to begin with and yes he was protecting his property. Now it's stated in this article that the State of NH doesn't have the resourses to handle it by stunning the bear and removing the bear. The parties that were feeding the bears should be charged with something, they were WRONG and everyone knows you DO NOT FEED the wild animals, if you do you pay the price. In this case, someone else had to pay the price along with the bear and bear cub. I have seen all types of wild life in my yard, but I do not feed them. They are beautiful to look at, but leave it at that. If the wild life does not find food to eat they move on. They may come thru your yard quite often and maybe you only see some of them once. Bottom line, you respect the fact that they are wild life, they won't hurt you. Just use your head people, leave the wild life alone. Admire them for their beauty, but just let them go their way, they will find food in the woods.
