Does anyone have any specifics on the case? Anyone know what the causes of action are?
Also if she is just filing against a "John Doe" and has no idea who the defendant is that will cost $150. She will then need to file a motion to allow service by publication.$25. She will then need to run in the paper three times.$200. She will then need to file an affidavit of default and motion for a default damages hearing.$25. A total cost of about $400. Finally it is going to take resources away from the Clerk of Court (that could maybe go to trying to collect child support or some other worthwhile endevor), plus this will take up valuable Court time that could go toward resolving a real case.
This seems to me to be just a frivilous, junk lawsuit and a stupid publicity stunt. Shame on Rita Allison and everyone else involved in this.
