A *7-month-old* was able to *crawl* into a washing machine????

And it was *running* after his older brother shut the door????? Don't you have to put money into a laundromat machine before it will run????? Did the 4-year-old manage to do that, too????

This story is bizarre, and I bet the truth is not being told. Either that, or these are a couple of very precocious children...

This same thing happened in a person's home with those front loading machines except her child wasn't so lucky and drowned. I will NEVER purchase one of these machines I don't care if they are the latest rage.

I agree completely. I have a 17 month old and there is no way she would even be able to crawl in a washing machine. And you definitely have to put money in it to start it. Something is fishy with this story.

what happens they bring in a months worth of clothes in the laundrymat and the kid probably was in the clothes and put in the machine.

they dont do laundry on a regular basis and thats why they screw up the machines.

Nice job reporting LOCAL news. Just copy whatever comes over the wire (or the internets).

Jeez, that's how they give baths in Mississippi!

You know, I do like reading "weird news" even if it isn't just in Rachacha NY. This is a weird story. Thank heavens this little boy is ok.

I wonder if perhaps the mom already had put in the coins and was waiting to finish loading the clothes into the machine? I dunno, it's been eons since I've had to use a public laundromat.

Some 17 months old kids are pretty big and get around pretty well. I do wonder though if the 4 year old gave him a helping hand...

How can anyone not know their child was in a washing machine, I agree, the mother's mind was elsewhere.
Obviously, no one was watching the four yr. old, either! Un------real!

The baby was not 7 months, he was 17 months old.

I doubt it highly the parent had anything to do with this. Ever hear of kids doing stuff that would make your hair stand on end? Stuff like this can happen right in front of you - it only takes a few seconds.

Wow. Quit being so judgemental - you were not there.

I take that back - the baby was 7 months. My apologies.

However, my nephew was RUNNING at 7 months old - some kids are way ahead of others.

Why would anyone have to 'PRY' the door open of a washing machine?????????

You don't know where the F I was when this news story broke. 7 or 17 months, where is the mother and father? No 17 month old child should be in a situation to be away from an adult. And, if one was there, how do you let a 17 month old child climb anywhere.
You are an ash hole and you know what my response to you personally is? It begins with an F and ends with a k and if you add it to you, that's my message to your racist white ash! I DON'T LIKE RACISTS AND I SURE AS HELL DON'T LIKE YOU. IS THAT BEING TOOOOO JUDGMENTAL?
Wow! Big. This message board has been getting to you bro. Those are some very strong words coming from someone of your caliber. Apply the brakes alittle man.

Unless this kid is Superman, I don't see how it's possible for a 7 month old baby to "climb" into a washing machine on their own.

The big brother probably did it. There is such a thing as sibling jelousy and rivalry. Especially among younger children who feel threatened by the little one. I believe the other son did it. He's a small kid and is afraid. Probably scared to death. Poor little thing.
