Time To Go??? Why did you take down the Morphine story and my comment? Hit to close to home? You have alot to say in every other story about wade and the drug activity????

To "Tired Of All The Drugs", I did not remove your "Quote", however I did remove several stories yesterday. Below is a list of the edits I made.

boring : Prosecutor: No Charges Against 18 Defendants in Drug Bust

boring : Men Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Girls

duplicate : Ex-Hamburg officer charged in theft

duplicate : Mid-Daily Items: Chief suspect

duplicate : Man Charged with Selling Morphine

other Negative Impact on Community : Police: Man Sold Morphine To Teenage Girls

The reason I removed them precedes the story: and those reasons are picked from a list of choices that are available to me, meaning that the stories marked “boring” were not necessarily boring to me or other people, but they were sitting still, no activity or recent active posts to them.

As you can see three of those stories removed pertained to “Wade and Drugs” a forth story was a duplicate story of the “Morphine story”, and the reason for removing that story as well.

As for an answer to your current post, It is close to home. I live here, I know the people involved in that story and the families that are affected.

My intention is to move forward with this “Lykens Forum” and try to guide it in a “Positive Direction” while trying to maintain a fair and balanced forum.

There is a difference between making comments directed at the people who were hired to “Serve Us”, and taking a cheep shot at your “Neighbor”.

Negativity Breeds Contempt.

I know them well to, and they should understand the actions that lead to this. No punt intended just the truth. I live here to, it's time all parents wake up and we all find a way to stop this. Also no listing is in the forum at all anymore. You spoke your opinion in many of posts on others, but then removed this one completely. Freedom of speech, not just what you want to hear. That's all I'm saying. I know many agree.

I agree with Tired of the Drugs. I know the young girls very well, people will have their opinion and they have every right to it. I do think there is a huge problem among our area with drugs, not just this story. But until the police (state and local) want to followup when these activities are reported it will only get worse. Freedom for kids in this area is not a good thing. But when they are acting like this 18 year old (senior in high school) is the biggest drug pusher around it upsets me, it was an accident that shouldn't have happened but did. The only reason the police even charged him was because the case fell in their laps not due to any investigation. What about the crack heads living on the 400 block of Main St Eville with a child in the home???? They've been reported so many times and nothing is done, when school age kids are in and out. Again nothing will be done until someone else OD's or dies, then it's to late. It's very frustrating when homeowners have no where to turn and landlords keep renting to drug addicts.

Just some insite, TIME TO GO (TO THE BAR) with the grandmother who was in charge of the one teenager. You nailed it TIRED OF ALL THE DRUGS. He took it down to protect her feelings, she needs to wake up and her daughter BE A MOM!!!!
Time To Go insulted Eville Mom about having spell check but no one can insult his drunken friends.
Please this forum is open to free speech, why are you acting like you never slammed anyone.
They are just stating the obvious, they only said what the whole town has been thinking for 5 years now. No surprise the child got into drugs.

And yes you did delete my message if I click on it in the discussion area it is gone. You must be one of the parents. You talk and talk but no one can have an opinion. I will contact pennlive and become an editor myself then the news will stay no matter what people express as their thoughts.

No! I stand corrected. When I'm signed in as editor I can read your post, when I'm not signed in I can't see it. I'm sorry. I think by removing the story the posts got blocked. It was not my intention to block your post.

I agree with you completely on this. I wasn't trying to block "Freedom of speech", Just another "Negative Story" from Lykens.

Again I totally agree. I too am frustrated with the drugs, the police intimidation, the way people outside of lykens think of our town, and yes the negative comments aimed at not only "MY Friends" but my neighbors from my neighbors. I actually thought I would do something constructive and try to "Clean up" the forum, but apparently it's a bad idea. I'm sorry if I offended you guys (gals)

Nice opening line, not true but nice. Again I removed a story that to me was "Negative". As for that grandmothers feelings, I know she is hurting, but I did what I did for a change.

Once again I'm sorry about that. You don't have to go to PennLive to sign up to be an editor. There is a link on the opening page to do just that. Right in the center of the page. But I'll tell you I'm only doing this one day and already I'm in trouble. It's fun anyway. I look forward to reading your posts.

We may need the negative press just to open up the state police eyes and put pressure on them to clean up the streets. They are the ones that also turn a blind eye. Bad press makes them look bad and people then in turn know they are not doing anything about the huge drug problem in Upper Dauphin Area, not just Lykens. I see your point but without freedom of speech it will just be us covering up the truth, and then we are just like the state police and Wade.

To: Time 2 Go - It is hardly a "good deed" to keep the news, and or the truth from anyone, be it positive or negative. We all know we are not living in Mr. Rogers neighborhood. How does that old saying go-sometimes the truth hurts? However, that does not mean that,as you suggest, we cannot focus on the positives. So, instead of hiding the bad, how about you start some "talk" about the good in Lykens?

Yeah that's exactly right a good deed to try to protect the poeple to blame in the first place. Any child that runs the streets will end up in the wrong place with the wrong people. And now these children are being punished for what the adults have done, not being parents or role models. And when the grandmother defends all the actions done by the 14 year old she will never learn the true compacity of the situation. Her mom should try being a mom and not so into herself and the grandmother wouldn't be raising her child. And god know her mother had the child at 15, you would think she wouldn't be so stupid.
Just makes me sick. This is why kids are the way they are now a days, they have no rules and there are no punishments for the wrong they do, just excuses for the behavior by the so called adults. The 14 year old is on the phone with her friends all day and night, and they are at school. She's expelled. What a punishment. I get sick to even think that this is what the world has come to.

You are both right, I thought I had a good idea, but took the wrong approach. It was my first day as an editor, but thats no excuse either. Perhaps some of you would be interested in joining the editorial staff, between us all maybe we can make a difference. Thanks for opening my eyes.

Your starting to upset me with your crap now. You stated your point now let me state mine. HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT A CHILD THAT WAY YOU SCUMBAG. I understand you may think you know all about eveything and maybe you do. BUT DON'T INSULT A CHILD, she is a very smart girl who made a mistake. Let it be. Talk all you want about adults BUT LEAVE THE CHILDREN out of it. GOD HELP YOU IF THIS EVER HAPPENS IN YOUR FAMILY OR WITH YOUR CHILD. Chances are it already has, those seem to be the people with the biggest mouths, JUST LIKE YOURS!!!!
