I am happy for your successes, but our experience with Dr. Grey was quite different. He made promises on his web site of success rates that he could not back up. After his first reversal failed, we were promised a second reversal attempt for free (as stated on his web site). After flying to Tampa, staying in a hotel and having the surgery performed we were called at our hotel room by Dr. Grey telling us he would not remove the drainage tubes the following day unless we paid him $3000. I was speechless. He said he had changed his mind and that his office had made a mistake and now we had to pay. We refused, my husband flew home with the drainage tubes still intact and had a local urologist remove them. Then a few days later we saw Dr. Grey had taken our credit card number we had used for the first reversal and charged it. We complained to the Better Business Bureau, Medical Board, newspapers, etc.. We decided not to press charges because we could not afford an attorney. I knew Dr. Grey was a little crazy after that and am not surprised things ended the way they did.

Now Pregnant wrote: <quoted text> How about that? They have a baby boy now? Wow, I wonder how that happened?? The important thing is they have a child, even if the good doctor had "nothing to do with it". Still waiting on the copy of the "threatening" e-mail from Dr. Grey to be posted. Oh, maybe it never really existed. Even 16 months after surgery I still have all correspondence from his office, staff and other patients. Hmm. I'm happy they were able to have a child! My husband's vasectomy was reversed by Dr Grey June of 2004. It took a while, but as of January 2008 we have conceived and are expecting a baby due October 2008. Dr Grey was magnificent in his work, treatment, customer service, all of his nurses the same. We feel horrible about his tragic death! For all that are tremendously frustrated that they haven't conceived, just remember that even when all things are normal and well, it can be difficult to conceive, and those who conceive easily should/could count their amazing blessings!

MY HUSBAND HAD HIS VASECTOMY REVERSAL IN 2004. SO FAR IT HAS NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU TRIED (LIKE IUI OR IVF)? My husbands first count was 250,000: his 2cd count was 6 million: 3rd count 12 million: 4th count 8 million: and 5th was 5 million Lisa wrote: My husband had his reversal surgery in October his first SA was 5 million with 25% motility, 4month was 14.4 with 75% motility and his 6month was less than 1 million with 86% motility. This just doesn't make any sense. We have an appt with a fertility doctor to now over see our situation. Has anyone gotten bake an incorrect SA fom the lab. So worried.

Claudia, My husband has had 5 SA'a done. His highest count was 12 million but has since dropped to 5 million with low motilities all 5 times. The count of his first SA 3 months after the reversal was 250,000. Claudia- Texas wrote: My husband and I were very shocked to found out about Dr. Grey's death!!!. He performed my husband's reversal in April 2006 and everything went just perfect!!!. My husband just went to do his sperm count (the first one after two months of surgery) and the results were ZERO activity. We were very sad since we hoped that there was going to be some activity. Has anyone experience this before? is it normal to have NO count in the first exam?. Our hope is that this could be too soon and that we will be more lucky on the second count (four months after surgery). I'll appreciate anyone's feeback!!

Lori, Did you and your husband have a redo reversal performed? Lori wrote: Does anyone know of an impartial organization that keeps track of these doctors? I thought I'd done all the research I could and didn't see any negative references to Dr. Grey at all. Now I'm pretty sure our biggest mistake was to choose him in the first place. We had a failed reversal done in 2004 and were just up for the "free" redo. I actually think it's a blessing in disguise (although an expensive one) that we are being forced to go to another doctor. I'm about to schedule a surgery with another doctor and don't know how to check that I'm not making the same mistake again. Any suggestions?

Wow! I just now found out about Dr. Grey. My husband and I went to him in 2003. The reversal failed and when we contacted the office about the 2nd gerinteed (sp?) reversal everything had changed!!! We decided to do IVF in Tulsa Oklahoma. I had wished we had done that 1st. Oh well. We now have twin 20 month old girls through our 2nd IVF. DH count is still 0! They were able to get sperm for the IVF though so they are his kids! I wish everyone luck with getting there miracles

Chuck wrote: <quoted text> Doctor kills self after malpractice verdict Lawrence Grey, who specialized in vasectomy reversals, had been ordered to pay a former patient $1-million. By BILL COATS, Times Staff Writer Published May 4, 2006 ---------- TAMPA - On Friday afternoon, Dr. Lawrence Grey listened in a Hillsborough County courtroom as a jury announced its verdict: He should pay a former patient $1-million. Late Friday night, Grey's wife found him dead in their $2-million Bayshore Boulevard home, hanging in a bedroom closet from a yellow nylon rope. Grey's apparent suicide left lawyers in the malpractice case reeling. Jeffrey Hunter, the Tampa lawyer who represented Grey, heard about the death Saturday night after a family outing. if he had a $2M home, I'm thinking he could've afforded the settlement. guess he wasn't ready to live like us "common folk" again!
