And your point is. What makes you think others care who or what you listen to. Some don't even like mountain music while it's a part of others lives. There's some who like the socialist government we have in DC while some don't. I know the retort, free country, write what I want. Whatever!!! I supoose you won't be seen at Heartwood Saturday. What a loss!!!

That is exactly the point. This and that person is entitled to their opinion. I was not a fan of Whitney Houston's, loved one song she did but I also know the world lost a great talent. same with Ralph Stanley, Roy Orbison and any other. My mother did not like to hear bagpipes whereas I think one of the most beautiful renditions of Amazing Grace is on the pipes. In closing, thank you, no way, for your opinion.

It is time Ralph retires. He is was good in his time. I remember him well as a kid. However, time changes us all. He is not a big draw anymore. Sorry but that is just the way it is. They only reason they are having it at Heartwood is because it is about to go bankrupt and they hope some out of towner will buy a 8x12 3000.00 rug.

you are so right. Ralph's days have come and gone and the son & grandson(s) will never hold a candle to him, so they need to just fade on away instead of trying to get more milk from a "dried up cow".

There you go again, using my name to post with, you are going to get into serious trouble.
I love the Stanley's Ralph is a living legend, if I could get my hands on $100.00 I would go. They won't take $100.00 from my EBT card.

Yes, Ralph, you are too old and we in America ain't got time for you old people. we will be glad when the government gets the chance to put you old people out of here. It's a good thing Bob Hope and George Burns didn't live in the days of this trash in America or they would never have seen their 100th birthday. They ain't got time for you old folks. And you all thought Hitler was dead. the spirit of Schicklgruber is very much alive in America. I'll say it for all you wonderful, people lovin' Americans, you old folks are trash. One good thing came out of the twin towers destruction. Those people won't get old and in the way. I have a great idea. Let's ship Ralph and 1,000 of the old folks for the first load to Irkutsk above the Arctic circle and then they'll be out of the way. After age 65, ship them north of the Arctic Circle and they can become food for the polar bears.

Medcare is bankrupt. Something needs to be done. And people are are outliving their medicare and social security benefits. This in not a laughing matter. The next generation of Americans are being robbed by the old folks. The system was not designed for people to live past age 65. That is a fact.

That's what I am saying to you humans, kill the old folks. You can help the government by doing it at the family level. Everyone pick a cutoff age. When any family member reaches said age, be merciful, not doing it the Nazi way, gunbarrel to the head. Take said person in the woods, prop them up against a tree and let them stay there until death. Your mother gave you birth, your dad helps raise you but do them the same, no exemptions. Are there not debtor prisons? Are there not death squads? It worked in the primitive cultures. It would work today. You people talk about how trashy orientals are but they have compassion which you do not. The elderly in the oriental societies are cared for until they leave this earth but you Americans are so much more civilised than orientals and Native Americas societies who have compassion on each and every member of their family. You are a sick bunch, wanting these death squads, deciding who lives and who dies. America needs to fall, is going to fall, one of two ways, to her knees and repent for all this nazi/communist trash or fall to destruction and I say she is going to fall to destruction. You people bitch and gripe about the Jews. The Jews take care of the young, old and everyone in between. You're lower down than the muslims. Are there any old muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, yet Americans are so much better. Hogwash, bull crap. Americans are becoming the scum of the earth. I am proud to be a Scottish Highlander. At least we take care of our own, young, old and in between. Adios, Auf Wiedersehn, Au revoir America. It was a good run but it's the end when you start killing old people. GOD HAVE MERCY ON US ALL!!!

You are unreal----------you should have said, "pay their" bills.

I knew you were lying about being a business owner.

Have you applied for food stamps yet? Based on the amount of time you play games on this site you can't possibly work. Get a life.

My uncle Carter was an amazing musician and Ralph has been a big part of bluegrass/country music. To get on here and speak bad of the man simply because he has gotten older isnt very respectful.People are acting like he should just retire,go home and wait to die. That is a hurtful way to be!His music is his passion in life, and to talk bad about someone's passion and dreams is disgraceful.I understand his type of music isnt for everyone, doesnt mean you need to bash him.Would you want someone to bash you about something you loved to do,even if you werent the best at it?Its sad to see people talk bad about anybody. He is a good man who loves his family and music dearly. He should be able to do whatever he wishes and not be bashed for it.If you dont care for his music, dont go see him.Im sure nobody is making anyone of you attend any of his functions.Nobody would want someone talking about their father, brother, uncle,or grandfather Im sure.A musician he is,but try to remember he also is one of the above to somebody out there.

My Mother and Father used to go and see the Stanley Brothers years ago when they came to the Doran,Va. Airport. They were well thought of musicians/singers,and it was wholesome entertainment for families to attend together.Ralph Stanley is set up high on my respectability chart..

Some very well known people did not pay for the public water to be installed at their homes, although they drove expensive cars and who were financially well off. Can not respect people like this, let alone pay to see them perform. Check it out at the county office.

I really don't mean to be rude. Ralph is a legend but like I said time doesn't stay still and the world is changing. I have listen to Ralph and seen him in Nashville. Hes OK, but he not worth 100.00. There comes a time in everybody's life that you have to admit you don't have the same stuff in your old age as you need when you were young. This is not cutting him down it is just a fact of life. Look how much County music has changed in the last 30 years.
