It has nothing to do with the icestorm-it's about saving money.
How about you let go of the ice storm.

The problem was the distribution network, not lack of available current to flow through the grid. Changing the source of the electricity won't really change the 'level of service', merely give Unitil less incentive to serve us or maintain the infrastructure.

Unitil makes money on the distribution, not the generation which is why they are supporting the effort.
It will have no impact on their service, or lack thereof.
A well run distribution company should have all the incentive in the world to maintain their network for efficiency, but, then its unitil.

You'll do all this for a few cents a month. Whoever (colonial power?) is selling this to the community is selling false hopes and is probably the one that will make the most money.

This is long after the fact, but of course Tom from Worcester let go of the ice storm long ago - he isn't a Unitil customer, he doesn't know about their history of bad service for the last decade or two, he isn't aware of how high their rates are in comparison to other state utilities. He has National Grid.
