Commissioner James Kelly has some nerve putting the squeeze on Donna Balletta at the Blue Marlin.
There have been MANY licence owners who have gone well over a year with a pocket licence.
Where is the Monty's licence?????

It's "who you know" in Leominster and how connected you are to the political machine, that determines who gets what license. Monty's obviously has some
connections. I'm surprised the MA ABCC hasn't stepped in, as there are clear violations of the Liquor Laws here.

The blue Marlinn would do better if the locals could afford it. The food was ok, but the Manhatten prices kept me from returning.

I thought the Blue Marlin was good, but the prices were comparable to Legal Seafood. That is going to be a very occasional stop for folks in Leominster, especially given the options for great seafood in the area.

I hope that The Blue Marlin is retooled successfully. Credit should be given to the owner for her commitment to the business. Having a number of options downtown is critical to Leominster's continued improvement. I am sure, since the restaurant is owned by a Leominster native and successful restauranteur, that the owner understands that the success of the restaurant has a great impact on the city and its downtown.

It was promising to read that four businesses are looking for licenses in Leominster. All four, given their stylings and locations, sound like they would do well in the city.

Good luck to all. The contributions will be great for Leominster.

Ricker should continue to focus on his Lunenburg establishment, nothing but trouble there. I know what happens in Lunenburg shouldn't have any hold on him wanting to open in Leominster, but you can clearly see how he runs an establishment that serves alcohol.

Is this a Gitto from that well managed chemical/plastics company that ran into some "unavoidable" financial issues?

I wouldnt park my car on Spruce street anywhere to eat at a 'family restaurant' in hopes it would still be there when we're done. How does the ex wife of a con man get to open a business?

I have and I have seen the quality of some people who are typically there. When you know they're up to no good and let them stay just because they're spending money it is their fault.

i bet you are real quality if you are trying to bash owners of an establishment that does well for themselves....there is problems at every establishment and they go above and beyond to take care of problems that take place...you must be one of the people that goes over there when the captains lounge is closed

That's rather funny never been to the captain lounge sorry that I set certain standards it's part of the whole you are who you associate yourself with. I'm not bashing the owners, I'm bashing Ricker. He has had almost as many issues as Hot Shotz enough said...

Plenty of Parking on Lancaster St.??Why are they making spaces on city property instead of putting a sidewalk in like Gateway did? Where are all the customers going to park? Out on the street?

Way to many "bars" in Leominster for dirtbags to hangout in and beat each other up in the parking lot. And that's not even mentioning urinating on their own tires before driving home. Sports Bars full of athletic wantabees. We need more cafes', bistros, etc. etc. Send all the "bar" customers to Fitchburg to lower R.E. values and challenge Mayor Wong even more.

People aren't eating in the small local places. They go to the box places where they can get huge portions of cheap food. I don't see how all of these places are going to survive in the current economic climate.

You make a great point. Thats also why everyone is getting fatter by the day. I'm going into the belt manufacturing business as everyone will need a new one every few months.

I agree the prices don't match the food? Just because it's cost allot does not mean it taste good.

The place will be gone in a year (or less. Even if it was good food no place to park.
