I live right down the street from that like two minutes in a car and I have to say that road, the one I live on, is insane. Cops need to sit there more often. I hoped no one died, and I hope some people will start to wear their seatbelts. I don't want to hear about anyone else dying on this road.

I feel for both families and pray that the injured man recovers. Let's just hope that some good can come from this; that maybe someone who doesn't wear a seat belt will start wearing one today after hearing about this tragic loss.

No one should ever be in a motor vehicle wihtout a seat belt on - ever.
nice going

I am so sorry for both families. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved including Lunenburg Police, Fire and EMTs who assisted. Everyone, please,if not for yourself, then for your family's sake, wear your seat belts!

In the 80's the most prevalent form or motor vehicle moronitude was tailgaiting. Since the 90's, it's been complete mind f*$s who for no apparent reason, but probably having lots to do with self-importance and lack of responsibility, do what this **** did -- cross over the center line. While you're out driving today, take note of the huge amount of mental midgets that out their inside front wheel either on the center line or completely in your lane as they come towards you. We're just lucky this Therrien idiot only killed himself in this case.
By all accounts this gentleman was test driving a vehicle that had just been repaired, and seemed to suddenly obviously have mechanical issues causing him to cross the line. In which case, you sir are a f*****g idiot, as this was certainly nothing more than a complete ACCIDENT.

Thank you for including the emergency personnel. It was a difficult call for the family as well as the personnel who were at the scene involved.

We have what I would consider a high rate of fatal accidents in Lunenburg. The main reason I would say is speed and not paying attention. Our roads are narrow and very winding. Every morning while waiting for the bus with my kids there are cars traveling down my road, speed limit 25, at 70 mph or above. I have complained numerous times to the police and even given them the plate numbers and nothing is done. The Lunenburg police department has a lackadaisic attitude toward speeders. The only roads they watch are the main roads like 2A and 13.

I am sure without a doubt that it was not by choice that he crossed the center line and drove into on-coming traffic to his death. However, it was by choice that he (they both) decided not to wear seat belts. It's tragic when a life can be saved by spending 3 seconds to buckle a seat belt, yet those 3 seconds were not spent, and another family has to grieve needlessly! He is no longer in pain, yet his family will grieve his passing for the rest of their lives. What a shame that his death was caused by a decision that he consciously made.

people need to slow down and take responsibility for themselves. our town budget is not allowing for a sufficient police force. i used to live on whalom rd, and it's a racetrack. speed limit is 30, yet very few go that speed. i admit i go 35-38, but most people go much faster than that. when we found out we were having a baby, we moved to a quieter, less travelled road. as far as the police doing anything about called in info....that would lead total chaos. anyone could call in anything on any plate.

i know neither, but RIP to the deceased, and well wishes for the injured driver.

If I report a driver endangering children's lives I would hope that our police would at least talk to the person speeding. Heaven forbid that they actually sit on my street just one morning to see how fast people are driving. I would say "What will it take a dead child?" however I know even that will not snap them into action.
just sad

Well, you know NH - live free and die.

Not only are seatbelts optional in the Granite State, they also don't have to wear motorcycle helmets there.
