Graffiti vandals return, with D.C. theme
Recent tagging at Monument Park and other areas in the city -- following a nearly year-and-a-half-long respite from noticeable spray-painted graffiti -- seem to suggest that may be the case.

There are at least four tags on cedar street that are new. One on the new green FSU sign, one on the telephone pole, one on the stop sign and so on.
These are gang tags. The DC group is announcing themselves to the other gangs as a force to be reckonned with.
These are violent tags. The one on the side of the FSU dorm building on cedarstreet is a gun. This gun was a message.
The ones who tagged the war memorial should be told point blank in the newspaper that they will be put in a room with a few war vets to get their asses kicked.
This has to be the lowest form of tagging. To tag a war memorial is more than deplorable and should earn the culprit time in the guatamino bay with the other enimies.
Then a 21 year old MAN is caught tagging and the judge gives him 5 hrs of community service???? Come on judge! Why didn'tyou award him with some money??
The amount of police salary that goes into catching these taggers and the judge gives him community service? Tagging sets the stage for violence!! Fact!!
First all tags should be photographed and put on a list, when these maggots are caught then charge them with all their tags.
They are painting store fronts, residential properties and city property. The judge should be put on notice.
Down playing the seriousness of these tags is not good. 5 hrs of community service is just irresponsible. The guy is 21 years old. Half of the fathers in Fitchburg are 21. He is not a kid.

The tags in the college area are territorial and definately done by gang members. Some are warnings to other gangs.
The gang situation in Fitchburg is at an all time high!!! This is serious. Such gang activity if allowed will totally destroy Fitchburg for the next 10-15 years.
Fitchburg was taking a turn around, now it has escalated way backwards. On Myrtle street alone there are three different gangs.
Yes, there are young wannabees who walk in groups of 5-10. These groups need to be dispersed. We need education.Weneed to tackle the drug dealing with camando type of action.
If you crush the drug dealing then the customers will be choked and weeded out. There has to be a zero tolerance approach.
There are so many guns on the street of Fitchburg. Start with education and a buy back program. Have medal detector wands for police.
