this kind of stuff is so sick. "anger issues", they should let a body builder with "anger issues" deal with him and see how he likes it.

I agree...I hope that he goes into General Population, they can help him with his "issues".
As for the mother of this child, I hope that she has the presence of mind not to return her child to this situation, regardless how much "help" he says he gets. That seems to be the trend.

Well, I hope this is the end of the relationship between the boyfriend and the mother.

Anger issues.

Sorry, you know, I grew up with people telling me all about my anger issues. When I was in third grade I was okay with that excuse. At 27 years old, it's time to have dealt with your anger issues. Not to deal with them, you they should have been dealt with years ago.

Mom will only do the right thing if that includes dumping this loser. What are the odds that she stays because "when he is not beating me or my kid, he is really a nice guy..."

I hope the childs Mother has enough common sense NOT to go back to him. The next time could be Deadly. You can find another Man but you CAN NEVER replace your Child.

I thought I had heard it all when it comes to child abuse. This is heinous. The child could have suffocated. He should do some really hard time for that.

Okay, I get where you're coming from here, but it may be a bit of an overreaction. Granted, I come at it from the "boyfriend" point of view, but, well.

Okay, when my wife and I were dating she had a six-year old daugher. Day care let my wife down on day and I happened to have the day off. I offered to take care of here daughter for the day so she could go to work.

Oddly, that little girl is now a teenager, living in my house, who looks up to me (as much as any teenage girl ever looks up to *any* adult male in her immediate circle) and was not harmed in any way. I introduced her to "Teddy Bear" pancakes at a local pancake house (which has sadly closed now) and it quickly became her favorite place for breakfast.

I think your sweeping statement is the problem, though. My wife had already learned that I got on well with kids and animals. Often better than adults.

I expect in the case of these boyfriends hurting the kids that the mom would have had some inkling that the boyfriend couldn't be trusted before this.

Just, let's be clear: I like kids. I cherish my role as father to my kids and stepfather to my wife's two kids from previous marriages. I love my stepkids as much as I do my own kids.

Men are not evil just because they are men. Some men are certainly evil. Some men certainly do evil things. The same can be said of women.

My current neighbors across the street are child abusers and have two little ones. Coming in from work on several occasions I heard those all too familiar screams that make your skin crawl and you know that something is going on. To make a long story short, I called the police and also social services. The mother (I use the term for lack of a better word) was beating them with a belt that looked like a cat-o-nine tails. The older one had a welt on her head. The mother was made to strip the children for any other visible marks. Now for months the condo is quiet and the window is always closed with the blinds drawn, as before they were not. Now they are moving to another location and I paid them a visit. I pounded the door with my fist and when she opened it I said, "Remember this. You can run but you cant hide. You can abuse your offspring at another location and think that you are hidden from anyone knowing about it but I am going to follow you like a pimple on your ass. I will know wherever you go, wherever you live as you are registered with the department of social services. Little girl named Nixmary was brutally murdered by her step father because she was hungry and wanted some yogurt to eat. Her mother stood by and did nothing. You picked the wrong neighbor to live across the street from because unless you move back to Jamaica, you are going to feel like a bug under a magnifying glass.Miles are not going to separate you from these eyes." I am going to wonder about these kids when they leave and I expect that harm will come to them and I wont be there to stop it. I cant stop them all but I wish I could. I found out about little Nixmary after it was too late and somehow I feel as though it was my fault and I could have stopped it. Saave one, save them all, but unfortunately, there are far far too many of them and there is only me. God bless all the children and watch over them. Not everyone loves their children. So love yours more. Just one more thing to all of you with kids. HAVE YOU HUGGED YOUR KIDS TODAY?

It's sad to hear the kids will be leaving, Vee. I had to get Chris the day he stole money out of my purse and took my van. It hit me the wrong way but it hasn't happened since. If the parent is too stressed to properly care for their kids, let someone else take charge of them just a day. This way the parent can rest and destress and the kids can, too. Not only do kids need a time out but in today's world, so do parents..

It's all very sad really. I am a mother of beautiful daughter who has ADHD. Everyone tells me I just need to be harder on her (as in spank her more). I have only spanked her probably 10 times in her 9yrs of life and even then I didn't even leave red marks. It like how you would swat a cat off a table. I'm tired of people telling me to beat my child. Yes I got my fair share of spanking's when I was young but I vowed to be a different parent. As for the little girl, it's great to hear she will be fine. As for the boyfriend, don't get me wrong here but I actually feel for the man. It's not his tears or his confession but they way he seems to need help. I went through a terrible depression and didn't know why I was feeling this way. I never had anger issues with it but I know what it means to not understand. This will be something that he nor society will never forget. Can some of you remember when you were younger, how you would put peanut butter on the top roof of a dog or cats mouth just to see them lick and lick cause it gets stuck. Well my friends did that a lot but as they got older they learned how cruel this was. Maybe the same will happen with this guy. Yes he is a grown man but I don't think he has grasped the consepts of his anger issues and hopefully as he gets older then he will learn and someone will be willing to teach him. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying what he did wasn't wrong because it was very wrong and he should pay the penalties for it but I also give hope to him to become a better man wether it be in prison or in society.

As I may have mentioned, I teach children martial arts. I've seen some less than savory things in some of the children I've taught, though I've been fortunate to not have had any children who were actually abused (with the exception of when I was working with an alternative education program - the little girl who jumped every time I got near her and had bruises everywhere I could see - learning martial arts requires touching each other, not something this little girl was eager to allow), but I've seen not-so-great parents.

Under California law, as I understand it, if I even *suspect* abuse and do not report it I can be both criminally and civilly liable. This is because of my role in teaching children. It's a fact that a few schoolteachers have used this as an excuse to be insufferable busybodies, but I believe they would have managed to be irritating people anyway.

One thing I do like about it is illustrated by something that happened with my daughter's friend. I can't go into a lot of detail, but I was able to handle the situation correctly without fear of reprisal against my daughter, me or any other member of our family.

Let's throw this idiot in the dryer for a couple years! He has "anger issues"? And why was the mother allowing this idiot to "wash" the child? He is probably a molester too!
