Yeah, call sign berserker 1/2. That day was a " horrifying reality check". as far as people talikg about it, whatever helps them cope, I'm still trying to find a way to make some kind of sense out of it. But I hope we all can find peace about this some day. I hope u all are doing alright

As we approach that date, I would like to take this time to say "Thank You Jesus" for protecting all of us who survived the IED in the KBR Rhino Jul. 2008, I am so grateful. To all of my co-workers who also survived, Be Grateful !!!

Thank You Jesus

I guess all I can say is if people want push blame around or make accusations point the finger at me. I accepted the guilt of this day long ago and deal with that everyday, But I am tired of hearing second hand accounts from disgruntled people and misconceptions. That day was a horrifying reality check for all involved. With the 4 year anniversary coming up I hope all survivors are doing well and May we never forget, Pamela Brown-Mayo, Justin English, Canan Sari and Krunoslav Sani. God bless all.
After see the damage and helping with the Medavac, I realized how blessed I was. One of the medics went into shock, a young female PFC, I tried to talk to her and calm her down, but I understood, I will never forget that day.

I pray for all involved.

I drove the Rhino out of TQ to Al Asad when TQ closed. That incident in Mosul always stayed in my mind while I was driving. I remember when the bus arrived at TQ on a lowboy. I have pictures and I took pictures of the undercarriage to see what It look like- I don't remember seeing anything that made me feel more safer..but I decided I couldn't worry about it..besides this was B6 to B1 6 hours--not the Mosul area-- other then driving through Hit..I never felt unsafe. I think my passngers were a little unnerved at times when the convoy stopped and we had to turn out the lights. Glad it was not a longer ride--my bladder would not have been happy :(

Praise God for another year, I am so glad to be alive. KBR Rhino, did not protect all on board that day, and that means it failed.

I will never stop telling this story. All of those who lose their life will never be forgotten.

KBR Rhino......failed that day......

I would like to say that I had the pleasure of knowing Ms. Pam Brown. I was in a different unit than 163faS, but was there on the same deployment. My unit had escorted Ms. Brown and the Rhino bus, along with the other KBR elements, many times up to FOB Sykes at Tal Afar. She was always a joy to be around and seemed to always have a smile on her face. I remember one night at Sykes, middle of May 2008, we were waiting for the sand storm to stop blowing and she had stated how hungry she was. Little did she know, I went to the mess hall and got her a hot turkey and cheese sandwich and a Rip-It. She was so appreciative, thanked me and gave me a hug. She didn't drink the Rip-It but did drink some bottled water. We would always talk about home, our kids, what she planned on doing after she left that "shit-box" called Iraq. I remember the night the IED hit her truck, we heard about it at the company TOC. Of course we didn't know it was her for a couple days. I felt so sad, sick and pissed off all at the same time. She will be truly missed. God, please watch over her daughter.
