Just wondering why has it taken 6 days for this to hit the news? Even with a history of running away why not be safe and just put a post out for people to keep their eyes open for him?
I hope that he is found soon and safe....

Exactly! WTF is going on when it takes 5 days to hit the news? How long did the parents wait to report him missing? Lots of questions here. Hope he's found safe.

And why in the world did it take almost a week for this to become news? I relaize he may have a history of running away, but he should still be considered to be in danger.

I pray to God that this child returns home safely. I do have a question, why can't the parents recall what the child had on that day..It may just be me, but I know exactly what my children have on each day. Also I agree with the other posters, this should have been reported sooner.

I happen to know the father of this child and they are not a well put together family. My kids and their kids are friends and there is never nothing good going on. I am not trying to hurt anyone but for the sake of the child this needs looking into.

keep your punkass kids under control and this wont happen. dont feel sorry for this mess, the parents let it happen and kid did it, no one made him run away. this is all the parents fault.

Guess you are not a parent yet or a deadparent your self. But you must have been a PERFECT child -- you can tell by your attitude and your choice of words to use. First it is NOT known for a FACT that he ranaway. Kids are kidnapped daily - an 18 year old found dead yesterday, she had been to a store - not bothering anyone.
If we need to point fingers - why not ask why our DSS system allows these childern to be left in very poor living conditions, usually being abused and not cared for.
Then the parents that do try to control their children - it becomes child abuse and you should not correct your children now days... mine are because I am responsible for them and what they do. If they do wrong then the parent is wrong and at fault for not controlling them. But if you do control them you are at RISK for being charged with child abuse. Very much different than we I was a child.
We pray for a safe return of this child and we as a community get him the help and safety he may need.

This, to say the least, is ridiculous! Since the first? Habitual runaway? HE'S A CHILD! Are people NOT thinking anymore?

I can tell you WHY it wasn't reported earlier...Unfortunately, it's because of his skin color and he most likely DOES NOT come from a fairly "affluent" background.

If he had been a missing 12-year old white child, from a middle to upper class family, this would have hit the news within several hours.

It doesn't matter if he's tried running away (or has run away) previously. He's still a child and his disappearance needs to be handled IMMEDIATELY AND put on the news IMMEDIATELY -- not SIX days later!

The authorities "dropped the ball" on this one. I believe this incident IS an issue of race. By the way...I am white and I believe this.

I don't agree with this. Most likely since he was always a runaway, his parents probably thought he would be back, so they didnt alert the authorities (since there is no record of them being alerted before when he ran away. When he didn't come back, they called, this is why it probably wasn't in the news sooner.

Why don't you give us all a break and keep your racist attitude to yourself. There are a number of factors that have to do with the timeline of this CHILD's missing. We don't know when the parents even reported it to the police. If they are piece of crap parents as stated in a previous post by someone that knows this family - they may not have even reported it until today. Stop trying to play the race card and pray for this child as he is in obvious need of help.

This was reported to the police when he was missing. They just came out with it on the news because they can't find him and they need help finding him. This has nothing to do with race you idiot.
