I just want to say there are City employees doing a great job. Having a sewer problem is never a fun thing, a work order was responded to quickly by the work crew. Also a work order for a street light was corrected in two days this time, last time it was three months before it was changed. So if this is a sign of the new Public Works Director, I am impressed. I also have to mention the ditch around the Softball fields has been tackled by the City. Good going!

It is great to see some positive posts. Waste water department seems to be on the ball. As for the street lights, I beleive the city reports these to the power company and they take care of it, that is why you sometimes have slow responce.

It's been almost five years since the street light needed replaced, and I believe at that time the City was replacing them. I just appreciate the improvement what ever the reason. The work orders to replace the bulbs still go through the City Hall.

This Sunday morning First Baptist Church held "open air" service at Centennial Park. Great going FBC for stepping out and claiming the Park as our own. Glad to see our Citizens taking ownership and getting out and seeing our town up close. I hope other churches and groups with follow their lead and take an interest in our town. It's hard to know how things look when you only pass by and look from your car.

Although this was not mentioned at the Council Meeting last night:

More great news, I hear that the City employees will be helping with the Fall Sweep this time around, doing a large item pickup on Wednesday, November 14th. All items must be placed curbside.

No tires, batteries, paint, or electronics will be allowed.

so glad that the hard working employees of the city, the ones who actually get their hands dirty and WORK, are getting kuddos for their work. To often they are the ones who are left out and all the 'glory' is given to those in upper management (the ones who would not get in the holes and get their hands dirty).

Great job Huntington VFD - I hope everyone got by the VFD Ragball Fundraiser held Saturday at the Softball fields.
I did go by for a little while and enjoyed watching our volunteers having some fun. I understand one of the games was delayed because our VFD got called out on a fire.

I also want to mention at least one Council member went by and showed his support at the VFD Fundraiser.
A great sight to see at any Community event.
Thank you, Council Member for showing up!

Another great improvement for the City, the flag at the Civic Center has been replaced. Thanks to all who worked on making that happen. Also the new Mural is almost completed at Centennial Park. A great thing for Veteran's day!

inacar, since you were posting something nice, why didn't you name the council member?

He has asked to not be set apart in my discussions, I am honoring his request. Since all the Council are men, I am safe in saying he.

Here is another case of Diddly Squat wanting to know someone's name. It is his obsession to know everyone's name.

I do not know the Mayor well, but I have never seen him show this type behavior. In my opinion this would be closer to Bruce's behavior. And Diddly has never asked who I am since Bruce knows who I am. But in Huntington it may well be a group effort with Bruce and Betsy giggling over the computer thinking how smart they are to have fooled everyone.

It sounded to me like diddly was just wanting to give credit by name since council elections will be up and there has been a bunch of criticism here.

The mural was painted by Shanna Crew! She did such a great job!
There is no harm in using someone's name when you're being positive about something like that.
