Ratz, you talk about the truth but yet you fail to hear and notice the truth when me and others speak it. The way the council has handled themselves so far has not been in the best interest of the citizens. There are far more pressing issues facing the city than getting rid of the people that they have singled out. The city is not on the uphill climb in making things better, the only thing that they are climbing for is bankruptcy from the lawsuits this council has caused so far and the ones to come. I am embarrassed to acknowledge that I live here with all of the bad publicity this council has brought upon us citizens thus far and it is only going to get worse until they resign or we rally and vote them out. Go to your doctor and ask for an emergency cranial-rectal inversion because it has set in deep. Then and only then can you wake up and smell the roses because what you are smelling is the same thing we are.

2008-recently you alluded to the fact that you are a peace officer with your reference to Billy Jack Russell as a brother. I hope you mean that literally and not as a fellow officer because if you do your certification needs to be pulled and all your irate ramblings subjected to close psychological scrutney by your department-your scary when it comes to ranting and raving about your rights that you fought for.You hide behind a ficticious name that only has meaning to you and with your invisibility you do to others what you so vehemently condemn others for.Why you choose to do this is beyond reason yet you continue on not one but three separate sites all rift with your sick, demented form of political posturing just like Hitler and sick political wantabes have done in the past. Do you honestly believe you are preceived as anything other than a clown?Yes a clown that shows everyone his real ignorance everytime he opens his mouth-so go ahead and threaten, demean, and flaunt your ignorance we are used to it but look at it this way its down right funny and mildly entertaining to read-but I would hope my fellow officers would clue you in that your mouth is gonna overload your sorry ass someday.

What you sent to me is a threat. Which I could careless about what you think are what you think you are. People for the past two years have threatened Bruce and Betsy and have drug their good names through the mud where was your outcry? I have never threatened anybody on this site much less treated anyone the way Ina and her group has done in the past few years. They should be held to the same standard they have held everyone else too. So get over yourself it's called free speech look it up it in a document you probably haven't read for the first time. Pretty good read its at the library. You can make your threats they don't bother me if it makes you feel like a man and feeds your power trip need than threaten at will. I will post as I see it. Again free speech. Have a nice evening!!!

Marley-thank you for your response. Only you would take what was said as a threat since anyone who disagrees with you is condemned by you as a idiot and other less than savory names that your limited vocabulary can conjur up. Yes, we all have a Constitutional right to free speech BUT the Supreme court has stated that there are limitations to that right ie shouting fire in a crowded room.Oh, thats right if you are a peace officer you would had that course in the academy but then I don't think you qualify to carry a badge and if your rantings were evaluated you wouldn't have a conceal to carry either would you?Anyway, your right I haven't been a long time viewer of topix but if what you say is true the courts will either vindicate or prosecute wrong doing and your clown antics won't sway them either way as others have pointed out-all your doing is making sure that people stay at each others throats for your pleasure so I'm gonna take my ball and go home.

Got a question if you are the police why do you need to hide behind Billy Jack and the Chief? You should be on-duty 24/7 why do you need to hide behind them. If you feel there is a threat you should be evaluating the situation and have some idea what is about to happen. I would guess your a certified security officer hiding behind the police! Just a observation from your post. A true certified officer is trained to always be aware of their surroundings 24/7 365. You certified through Pinkerton are what wana be security agency? Marley, the old adage"curiosity killed the cat" would probably apply here but then again you will probably constue that as a threat too. Please reread your prior posts when you allued to being a peace officer referencing Billy Jack a "brother" and that I had no idea what you were inferring that you too were a peace officer. Nowhere in my posts have I stated I am "presently" an officer-what I did say was that lunatics such as yourself sitting in a crowd of people suppressing your major anger issues I fear when and how you will manifest your frustration at the council.Your feelings of rightous indignation and false sense of importance are clear indicators of manic depression and precursers to violet reprisals on anyone who does not aggree with you-I know I am not telling you anything the doctors at the VA haven't told you but evidently you quit taking your meds OR never started. Please do us all a favor and get some help for your anger issues before you do something very bad-if not for yourself for your family.

You must be one heck of a psychologist to get all that from my post! Here's a question what does all the post that are worse than mine that was posted by the council members you support take some time and go back and read. What does it make them? You vilify me but have nothing to say about their rants, interesting. You do a good job of trying to take the spotlight off the council members and on me that's fine. Just remember this and I have nothing else to say or not will respond to you but people like me fought for you so you can protest and speak out as you please no matter how way off the mark your are. Your Welcome have a Happy 4th!! Just go back and read the posts Dr. Phil...

You seem very new to this site & the way it works, so I guess we can use that as your excuse. Have you not read anything that was posted before? Go back and read prior threads- these have been up for a year or so. You are trying to throw big words into your comments to 'fluff yourself up', but it isn't working. Your posts are out of the blue, they lend nothing to this forum, and they really don't make much sense. You don't like Marley's posts?- then don't read them, scroll over them, or log off. I would have loved to remove some of the posters on this site before now- it doesn't happen. You're talking about people's meds, their families, etc. Why? Do you feel better? Like you made a difference or that Marley will realize something about themselves? No, because this is frustration that has been building for a long time now. Citizens have been listening to what people have been posting and spreading all over town about the city and it's employees. Horrible slanderous things about their families, their personal lives, their jobs, rumors, etc. Yet you call Marley out for finally having enough and saying something. This site is full of people sick to death of the "changes" that were promised- and look what we were handed. Before you keep posting your opinion on particular posters- try to take a look at the real issue. If you have an opinion about something that matters- by all means, post. This thread is titled "Huntington City Meetings- Posted". I read all your comments, and I did not see even one that was about the topic at hand. Just you voicing that freedom of speech, about something you obviously know very little about. Do some research, read a little more, step back, & take a breath. Try again.

Should we go back a few months, and copy & paste some of the comments posted? It would be easier if you would just go back and read them. I can give you a few screen names to look for if you'd like. I've posted until I was blue in the face to people to simmer down and stop acting like a bunch of high school kids in the locker room. I thought their comments were harrassing and that anyone who seemed to have that much anger and resentment at their city & its government was a time bomb.(in my opinion, of course) This forum did not have many people on it that had my same thinking, for a long time. Recently some others have joined that feel like the election results were not what the citizens were promised. Yes, these newer posters get upset at times and things are posted that are a little hectic. But no worse than anything else I have read on here. The only difference I see is that they aren't agreeing with the new council, and they aren't willing to sit back and let the city go down the drain. Not without letting their opinions be known. I only say that everyone needs to do more than toss insults at each other online. Get invloved- let your council know that you are interested and watching what they are doing. Join a board, vote. Even your esteemed council member did just that. She was a regular on this site, many words, lots (& lots & lots & lots) of postings. She felt that she could make a difference so she ran for a council seat. Agree or not, she did it- now we hold her and the others responsible for making our voice heard in council. The real question is, are they making your voice heard or their own? That's a matter of opinion.

actually- im sure that the opposition would agree that things have been handled very poorly. now if things were actually put back on track and the citizens will be done, would it be to little to late. my opinion would be yes. even with the time frame needed to start a recall, I don't think that this council could recover from this embarrassment that they have shown so far. even if there were no more suits against the city, the ones that have been filed so far will be enough to do irreversible damage.
hypothetical- if you start a new job and cost the company so much money that it would get close or totally bankrupt that company, would you still be employed? or if you done the job your way to benefit yourself?
now to play devils advocate- is what you were told, perceived or expected what you got? some would say yes, most are telling me no.
the minutes of all of the meetings so far with this new council shows where their agenda lies. obviously you cant do the job so save yourself more embarrassment and throw in the towel. because when it gets to the point of a recall election, your constituents are not going to be there for you and you will be shamed for life.
the writing is on the wall. if you really want to do what the citizens are asking of you, resign. there is no shame in this. if you really care about this city and don't want to be branded as the ones running it into the ground, quit.
the ball in now in your court. the recall will be right around the corner.

1. Anyone can file a lawsuit against anyone for anything. Don't mean they will collect.

2. These councilmen/women were elected by a majority of the qualified voters that voted. They have a right and mandate to serve out their term no matter by how many votes they won.
We had two presidents elected by ONE vote.
We had a sheriff here in Angelina County that one by one or two votes. That was Pete McBride against Leon Jones.

3. It appears to me that there are only three or four motormouths on here agitating.

4. Having a recall election is a WASTE of money and IF it did succeed there would be another bunch of agitators after the ones replacing the these and all will start again.

5. The "American Way" is to take care of these things at election time.

I agree that "anyone" can file a lawsuit...but the thing is, this council "asked" for it by not allowing Ms. Gregson to retire. What did they expect? Would YOU let that go without a retaliation lawsuit? No, you wouldn't and you KNOW it. But I can almost guarantee you one thing, she WILL collect because this new council have their personal vendettas. It's obvious and if you can't see that, well that's your problem.

BU** S*** This is a "Work At Will" State.
I worked 11 years to within a few months of being "Vested" in a pension plan when the company shut the Lufkin plant down. They wanted me to continue working and looking after the Lufkin plant until it was sold, but they fired me first allowing them to keep their part of my pension, wrote me a check for my part plus interest, then hired me back.

The US Army forever gave older soldiers a break on the physical exams, but then started requiring older soldiers to pass the same physical each year that young soldiers and would not allow you to re-enlist if you couldn't.
This caused tens of thousands to not be able to complete their 20 years and retire.

Both BM and BG were GROSSLEY OVERPAID for a small town like Huntington. Maybe the councilmen that approved those wages should be sued and get some of the money back.

Who are you to say they were overpaid. Do you know their job descriptions? Do you have any idea of their responsibilities? You get what you pay for and this city was in good shape with good department heads. Now it's headed down hill and if we go by what you want to pay nobody in their right mine would take these jobs. Make it easy unincorporate and let the county take over you can get rid of a lot of payroll that way and we want need the council either.

You have no idea of the truth and Ina doesn't either when it comes to the pavilion at the park, bids were taken, one for 78,000.00 came in and another for 33,000.00. The man hired was a licensed general contractor and yes a relative of BG, he donated over 3,000.00 in labor. You build two commercial restrooms and a full service consession kitchen with cabinets and sinks, ac and security gates, including the electric, foundation and see if you can get it done for 33,000.00. He is also a person who has volunteered in many areas for this town. He is a Marine and served this country, a retired Vet. He was the lowest bidder and the plumbing was done free, yes free by BG son who is a licensed plumber. This is the truth, but I am sure you will not believe the truth, since Ina has already spread so many lies. Keep following her. BG has been a big part of Centennial Park and worked on everything in that park along with five other devoted citizens. None of it was paid for by City money, but by long hours of fundraisers.

you are correct that this is a work at will state but when it comes to firing someone, you have to have a justified reason for it or it is considered wrongful termination. the bs reasoning that this council had for firing betsy will not fly and her lawyers know it and therefor she will be compensated very nicely by the courts or will agree to a justifiable amount in a settlement. The others will also have this ace up their sleeves when their time comes in court or when a settlement is reached.
you see how this is working now. that little loop hole in the law will cost this city dearly and us citizens will have to pay for it. that is one of the numerous reasons why we say resign or recall the election.
im all for thinking outside the box and not keeping the status quo, but this is just plain stupidity and ignorance rolled into one big snafu.

Prove that they were OVERPAID...there were comparisons done from one small city to another...I talked with an older councilman and that's how they came up with the figures...your agenda is showing, lil' person...and this may be a work at will state, but nevertheless, Perez sued anyway...he didn't get what he wanted by a long shot, but TML settled because of his bogus suit. We'll just wait and see but I guarantee you, BM WILL get compensated for this idiot move by the city council...instead of paying her to work for a few months until she could retire, now they'll have to pay her thousands of dollars...makes great business sense, doesn't it?(sarcasm intended)
