I've heard the rumor many times about the clearing of an old house across from Flash Foods in Ludowici to make room for a McDonalds. I am posting this to find out if the rumors are true. If so.. When can we expect the beginning construction of this establishment?

That is a bunch of bullstuff if you ask me. Ludowici dosen't have the finances, nor the will power to do anything to make that crapy town any better.

This town is and will always be a town that will never grow. The McDonald's that was to come here has been stopped by the Ignorant County Commissioners and City Council. They have pushed business out of here to gain control in the past and they will continue to do so in the future. If the county commissioners are not getting paid on the side and they cant control the town, that business will never make it. These people talk of tight community and preach the word of God to fleece their real intentions GREED. Ludowici is filled full of crooks, cheats and back stabbers

they talked about puttin a mcdonalds in years ago, it was supposed to be next to the parker's across from subway, but they put a bank there now, so i guess thats not going to happen.

and yes ludowici has its problems, but so does anywhere else you go, especially small towns like ludowici. instead of just sittin there and being so negative, if you have such a problem with something then try to change it. take pride in the little things, ludowici has grown alot in the past few years and is improving little by little, give it some time. gosh!

Former Commissioner Wilson was a big problem for Long County. If you look into it he owns several businesses here in Long/Ludowici. And while he was Commissioner/Chairman, he sat there and did nothing except what benefited himself. Karma will get him though, hope it gets him good too.

Also another former commissioner made way for his son to be given a portion of the long industrial park. he was suppose to build a site and promote business. But there is a camper trailer there and it looks like crap. Hope he pays his taxes.

The problem is, those who have no agenda except personal ones get elected into local government. Until that changes, you will see no change.

I don't belive the current council will ever let that happen they like it the way it is . If it dosent benefit them they don't care for it . It's all about who's ur friend around here and who has the best connections.

I dont know anything about this the town, BUT that freakin cop that is always trying his best to pick off any and everyone for a blink over the speed limit! That has to be a big money maker for that town because you can bet your check that he will be somewhere on that main road just waiting... 24-7! And i live in Douglas, ga.... just pass through all the time.

THEY are not out there 24/7. But if you KNOW they are there and still speed, sounds like YOU are the problem.:)

The fact is, what many above have said is true. It now appears the SECOND McDonalds slated for the location next to Exxon for a dual Exxon/McDonalds is not happening again due to the owner of the Huddle House not liking competition. Little does he know the people who frequent his establishment will always do so. But most people like to mix things up. And they aren't going to HIM, they are going to Hinesville or Jesup to spend their money. And jobs are going to Hinesville or Jesup. That tax money is going to Hinesville & Jesup.
Meanwhile the citizens of the county are bearing the ENTIRE brunt of paying for everything when business taxes would help them do so much MORE to build schools, pave roads, build parks, expand police force, pay for a full time fire department, better youth programs, etc.

But hey, why would we need any of that???
