Review: Gilbert & Son Insulation

This place is one of the worst run places I have seen ran by Gilbert Palientino and his brother Martin. They about 3 or 4 box trucks a day and just about every one of there drivers are unlicensed both Gilbert and Martin are fully aware of that. There is actually an on going investigation about a hit and run accident involving one of their trucks. The accident occurred on 5/16/11 at around 8 PM. The driver was probably drunk yes at 8 PM they were prob drunk already.. Listen people i know these guys on a personal level I live in the same town as them and i know what goes on. One of the employees is a good friend of mines relative and he is a scumbag. These guys wake up get in their woke trucks and go to the corner store and buy a couple beers for the ride to the warehouse. Then they go load up the truck and back to the store for more beer. Then finally off to the customers house already being drunk by the time they get there. Did i mention they are unlicensed? There work ethic is very poor and they leave the job either not even complete because they usually stop working around 11AM once they are too drunk to function, or if they do work a full day they leave there work very sloppy and unprofessional looking. Everyone know what happens when you have an insulation job that looks like that??(yes it fails inspection). Then GIlbert wants to charge you to have his guys come fix it.. Come on who does this?? Ive helped them work on a number of jobs in the Spfld area. Drill n' fill or cellulose jobs were the best. I cant tell you how many times we just skipped over bays and didn't even bother putting material in. He had us drill every hole though, that way the unsuspecting customer would never know the difference since they saw the plugs they would never even question it. One example we did a job that called for 125 bags of celly that we were supposed to to put into the floor and walls now I drilled the holes and could see clearly that they were empty but they insisted that we only fill every other bay it didn't make sense to me but I did what I told I was still getting paid either way.. Now get this... They told the customer that it actually took 135 bags!!! What we barely put 80 bags into that home. I think the exact number was 77 bags. Not even 80. Now i write this review because of what has happened yesterday. The driver of the truck was probably drunk hit someone and drove away. Now i dunno how serious but someone could have been seriously injured or killed because of these guys allowing this to go on in there company. Now to top it all off when the police went and asked Gilbert the owner of the company what was going on and why his truck was involved in a hit n run and who was driving he responded to them with a name of an old employee who hasn't worked there for a while and happens to live with me. So when the cops came knocking on my door we simply showed them a receipt with the time on it proving it couldn't have been him. But why would he say an ex employee was driving the truck? Probably to save his own ass.. Thats where my money is... Ok so I have made several complaints to the local police as well as the state police asking to get them off the road since Jan but have had zero results. Come on I have small children I don't want them to drive down my street like that. Do you?? So if they cant help or wont do anything maybe as a community we can do something together don't hire these guys they do a hacked up half-assed job and if they don't get the work they'll have to let some people go and i would hope as a management decision they would let the ones without their drivers licenses go first. But really who knows??? Someone should do something and maybe if we all complain and don't give him the work something might happen to better our community's. There are plenty of other insulation companies out there that do a way better job and they don't have that extra risk we all take when we ask Gilbert and son come do the work.
