It is not uncommon for people to challenge death. It is a sport in it's own right. The thrill of being sooooooo close to fast moving vehicles is a thrill like no other. People just want to be part of the action and standing "REAL CLOSE" to it seems to do just that for them.

There is NO DOUBT that spectators KNOW the dangers envolved here but they just feel oblivious to the dangers as they must feel that it wouldn't happen to them, but,,,,,now once again, we have eight dead. Where does the maddness of it all stop???

This is indeed a tragedy, and I hate it when people choose to stand so close and put themselves in this kind of danger. A terrible loss.

Sad, truly sad.

I wonder how many lawsuits will be filled in the weeks and months to come.

You just know the sharky lawyers are foaming at the mouth over this.

There are way too many fans standing near the road. They should build bleachers for fans. That would be my argument.

First off my heart goes out to the deceased, BUT why were they standing so close to the trucks/track ??? They should've known better.

Just about everybody has seen the countless video footage of rally cars plowing through the spectators that line the course.
