For all you people who always talk about you getting drugs off the street, yet continue to drink your coffee and beer, or go to the doctor for your stress and panic attacks, and your hurt backs.... lol did you know mississippi was the biggest distributor of medical marijuana in the us..... look it up... miss state university.... so your willing to make money off it but not legalize it here?

It becomes my business when they smoke pot and get to sorry to work. Too many drug users end up on the welfare roll and our taxes have to feed them. It is no one's business unless it has an effect on our life too.

If drugs were decriminalized gangs, cartels, and prisons would lose almost all of their business. The reason behind drugs being criminalized have been exaggerated and are based on fortune telling. We cannot predict that someone who smokes crack will commit murder anymore than we can predict that the husband who finds his wife cheating on him will do the same.

^Fortune Telling^

Decriminalize drugs, and there will be no illegal drug trade, no government funds being wasted on imprisonment, judges, juries, and arrests.

I must say, Based on youtube and stuff, there are alot of ppl that smoke marijuana and do work, some pretty demanding jobs. It seems that marijuana is no different than opiate medication and has been scientifically proven to provide same effects, seems a matter of chancing a liver or a lung side effect. I'm watching colorado to see what it does financial wise. Marijuana is an herb and herbal alternative is becoming popular.

Actually it is a hemp, not an herb. Even some true herbs have been proven to be harmful.

Many marijuana users—and those of us who drive on the same roads as they do—don’t understand the dangers of mixing marijuana and driving. After alcohol, marijuana ranks as the highest-found drug in crash-involved drivers. According to a study cited by ONDCP, a roadside study of reckless drivers who were not under the influence of alcohol showed that one in three tested positive for marijuana alone. An additional 18% tested positive for marijuana in combination with cocaine.

The effects of marijuana on drivers include:
•Relaxation, disorientation
•Altered time and space perceptions
•Drowsiness, sedation
•Lack of concentration
•Decreased car-handling performance
•Impaired time and distance estimation
•Increased reaction times
•Impaired motor coordination

Marijuana can impair a driver's abilities for at least one or two hours after use, and residual effects can be found up to 24 hours. Marijuana has also been shown to increase the impairing effects of alcohol.

In addition to marijuana, other drugs, including some over-the-counter medications, can impair a driver’s ability to stay alert and focused.

Actually "hemp" has been used legally as deer feed , clothing, rope. As far as Impairment, If used as a medicinal alternative, the same rules apply as driving under any narcotic. By the way, I think nixons "War on drugs" was created as a profiteer kind of thing for the government.

New York is a perfect example of regulation gone wrong, Coke(soda) can cause problems, diabetes, lead to obesity, but that doesn't mean we need someone to regulate our eating habits.

Sudafed is another example, scare the public with a war on drugs and regulate medicine because it could be used irresponsibly by a barely recognizable percentage.

Regulation is the problem not the solution. The more we regulate the more freedoms we lose. It is only with personal responsibility, action, and exercise that we can maintain our freedoms.

Your Government wants to CONTROL you, the people should control their government.
