Step parents have no legal right and should never spank a child - I have seen a couple of cases on TV involving step parents and the court came down on them pretty heavily. I think discipline should be done by the real parent and a step child should certainly be made to respect the step parent. That is a job that would not be too easy. This is just how I feel and what I have seen in actual court cases - good luck.

A step parent has by virtue of marriage replaced the birth mother while the kids are still living there. However, the father should allow and be made aware of any punishment deserved.

I would guess a lot would depend on the circumstances. If the actual parents cooperate and guide the child or children in a manner that results in what's best for the children then be an active contributor to their guidance. If there is no participation from one parent or the other, do the best you can to be a positive role model to the children and most of the time it will work out. Every circumstance comes with it's own unique problems most of the time. Just my opinion.

There should be an agreement made between biological parents and step parent on disciplining. If biological parents say no, then that's that. No arguing about it. Got a problem with it? Remove yourself from the situation.

That really stinks - to have a two faced person dealing with kids. If a person cannot be a good step parent, they should not marry anyone with kids.

You are right and they tried to tell their dad but she tells him that they hate her and trying to wreck their marriage....WHATEVER....but he is seeing...finally that they are not lying to him....he is finally stepping up and being a man for once
