George county only has 2 ambulances not 3... That's what's in the contract any complaints should be directed at Paul Gardner and the board of supervisors they are all to blame...

I have used the ambulance for my mother, I could not have had better service and any better treatment for an old person - they were so nice and kind to her. I, too, think we should use our local ambulance but apparently it is not cost effecient. We have so many dead beats that jump up and call the ambulance and never pay. It is amazing the number of people in this county that complain about the medical service but have no insurance, no job and apparently no money. I would be ashamed to complain about free service - that's my opinion.

Well granny I am no spring chicken and I agree that people on Medicare that have worked and paid taxes deserve good medical attention - about half of the waiting room is just sitting there for drugs, I have seen it in person. This is true in Mobile too - go to Mobile Infirmary ER - it is awful. We have alots of people abusing the system and it is making it hard for all of us. The ambulance has people calling for things that are way to simple too,- all just a mess.

I feel that until we get the medical problems(abuse)fixed we are going to have to pay for all of the freeloaders. Children cannot pick their parents and should not do without, but if people are able to work or get on here and complain (use a computer) I think the state, county, or localgovernment should make them work for their check at a fair hourly wage.

I believe that the State of MS has an insurance program for children. I think your work idea is good. There has to be a day of reckoning with abuse and I don't think it is too far down the road.

I just think there are people and circumstances that certainly justify help. That being said, I read where some families think welfare is a way of life that generations continue to collect. Need more policing of welfare fraud. If a family needs it then I hope they get it, If they are committing fraud they should be penalized. Earned income means just that.

Welfare should be a temporary thing for sure. If only those that truly were deserving got it, there would be no problems.

granny sez-thats what i said but when they got these people george county had 3 of there own

I sez- check your facts.
1. GC Hospital had 3 units. Two up and ready for calls. One as a backup.

2. AMR has 3. Two up for calls. One as a backup.

Ummm, maybe I'm missing something, but what is different?

what is different is they could hire local people to drive the ones that was here the secound is the first responders is doing there jobs there are calling theme to do there lifting and they call them to go before they even know what they got they call south flight before the see what they have they fly them to go down there and they send them home true sometimes the chopper is needed but sometimes it not and if thats why they send them to let themgo home why do we need a hospital i have a lot of respect for the first responders but not to do there lifting i have worked as a caregiver 27 yearsand it will break you down but i did it and if they cant get sombody that can bring back our ambulances and let first responders drive themif they have a backup ambulance they should use it when the others are out of town

the differnce is the first responders does it for the community not for money so they shouldnt do ther lifting i would let the first responders take care of me before i would the ambulance crew apprecite the responders they are the ones that will get to you first

Many of the same people on the ambulance worked for the hospital. I agree about our first responders, they do a great job. I have nothing but praise for the first responders and the fire fighters. I do understand a little about accounting and the hospital cannot operate if they lose money - we only have the non-payer dead beats to blame.

Granny doctors are pretty much the same all over, they all make mistakes and they all do some outstanding things. I use Dr. Scott in Lucedale and have found him to be a good doctor. I have used drs in Mobile and all around but have never found a great difference in any of them.
