Today is the day the American Medical Association is rallying its allies -- from those in the medical field to patients and their families who depend on Medicare every day -- for a nationwide call to action to FLOOD the phone lines for members of Congress in support of legislation that will preserve access to care for millions of patients.
Please take a moment today and use the AMA's toll-free grassroots hotline at 1 (888) 434-6200 to call on your U.S. representative and senators to co-sponsor H.R. 4015/S. 2000.
We are closer than ever before to reaching our long-sought goal of eliminating the constant threat of dramatic cuts in the Medicare program that could be devastating to seniors. Legislation now before Congress (H.R. 4015 in the U.S. House of Representatives and S. 2000 in the U.S. Senate) will repeal Medicare's sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula, which is directly responsible for these potential cuts year after year.
But Congress has very few days to get this critical legislation up for a vote, pass it and send it to the president to sign: If Congress fails to act by March 31, these cuts will go into effect.
Tell Congress to repeal SGR and co-sponsor the bill, H.R. 4015/S. 2000.
We are very close to winning this decade-long battle. Let your voice be heard.
Dont let Congress risk your health care!
Congress must repeal Medicares flawed sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula. On April 1, 2014, the SGR formula will cause a nearly 24 percent payment cut to doctors who care for Medicare and TRICARE patients, leaving access to health care for seniors, disabled and military families hanging in the balance.
Contact Congress and tell them to stop the Medicare payment cuts. Let them know youve worked too hard to face a health care crisis now.
Tell your Representative and Senators that growing the problem is not the solution. It is time to stop the Medicare payment cuts by replacing the flawed SGR formula with viable, long-term solution! Email them and then call them using the Patients Action Network hotline at (888) 434-6200.
