Texas teen faces 8 years in prison over Facebook comment
Posted on February 14, 2014 by Conservative Byte
8 years! Wow. His comments were stupid and insensitive, but this punishment seems very excessive. Especially when they just gave another teen probation for killing 4 people while drunk driving.
Check it out:
Justin Carter ó the San Antonio, Texas teenager who was jailed for months for making an idiotic but entirely sarcastic violent threat on Facebook ó is still facing up to 8 years in prison.
The 18-year-old is charged with making terrorist threats against a school. Prosecutors are determined to get either a guilty verdict or force Carter to admit his guilt in exchange for a reduced sentence.
But Carterís lawyer, Don Flanary, says the case is ridiculous, and should be thrown out.
