High court issues stay of execution for Manning

Justices vote 8-1 for delay; AG offers apology to victims' families
The Mississippi Supreme Court on Tuesday issued a stay of execution until further notice for Willie Jerome Manning, just hours before he was set to die by lethal injection at 6 p.m. at the State Penitentiary at Parchman.
The high court voted eight to one, with Justice Mike Randolph objecting.
