So glad. There was a lot of bad information being passed around on face book. But thankfully the more educated voters voted and we will all be better of in the future. In particular out children am grandchildren.

Taxes not going up??...it may not be an actual tax for "the bond issue" but the money to fund all these projects will be collected. Just as easily as the value of our home jumping up $20,000 dollars when nothing has changed at our place since the last appraisal done by the county! How can they justify this with the housing market the way it is and the fact that we haven't done one single improvement. Tax tax tax....

Just because someone has a different opinion than you, it doesn't mean that they are uneducated. You, and people like you, are one of the reasons I voted NO. I don't like supporting people who basically call me stupid for disagreeing with them while taking my hard-earned money. And now that it is passed, y'all better be brainstorming for a new excuse when all of the fancy new building and equipment do nothing to improve the test scores or graduation rate.

No, I voted because it is my right to cast my vote based on my Christian morals and values that don't agree with sleazy political tactics. I based it on my unchangeable core beliefs, not a feel-good emotion elicited by someone telling me that it's "good for the children".

Nice farce, bring religion into it instead of sound logic.

Why is that? My religion is part of who I am. It is one of the things that my morals are based on. I do believe I have hit a nerve in all of you. Are y'all athiests? What I am saying is that I am who I am every day. It doesn't change because someone calls me uneducated or stupid for having a different opinion than they do.

I'm a Christian, but I don't see how the bond issue has anything to do with my beliefs....

Making a better future for our children needs to be our main purpose in life. They are the ones who will be cutting our chests open to do bypass surgeries, elected officials, police officers..... You don't think they need better facilities to learn in?!?!

Don't be afraid of change. It's not always good, but in this case, it is.

Next on the agenda, we need to legalize the sale of beer and wine in George County and use the tax revenue to better our town.

But wait.... That's hypocrisy!!! You're thinking, this person claims to be a Christian and wants to advocate the sale of alcohol?!?! Yes. Because folks who drink, will drink. If you don't drink, then stay away from it. It's time GC makes money of these alcoholics that live here!

The fact is is that buildings don't teach, they merely impress. We need more up to date materiel and better teachers. Put the money into teachers instead.

Better facilities, more TOOLS used for education, and better TECHNOLOGY = better learning environment for the kids & better teaching environment for the teachers.

Buildings that have better security...great. Technology becoming modernized...great. Expansion to accommodate the growing population of students...great. All that will help. As stated before, there are some bad teachers, as in any profession. The majority of teachers, however, do a great job with what they have. I'm happy they will have more to work with, now.

School bonds work by giving public schools a way to have funds to remodel or build, and basically keep things running. A bond is basically a tax that is collected from members of the community the school is located in. Your taxes ARE going up, at least for awhile. now we'll see how much the supervisors sneak out (illegaly) for their roads.
