The Four-Mile truck stop was robbed about 4:30 Sunday morning by an armed robber. George County is certainly changing when it comes to crime. I feel for our law enforcement as they try to have the man power to keep up with all that is happening.

They have posted a picture of the alleged robber on wlox. It takes a serious idiot to rob a truck stop. For what, 200 dollars at the most.

It was 1200 dollars according to the sheriffs dept. and if you think about it it was a pretty easy job. Early in the morning when no one was there on a deserted hwy. you could be in a different county or he'll even a different state in just a few minutes. Easy to disappear.

I'm surprised it hasn't happened before or that they didn't anticipate something like that happening.

From what I read on WDAM seems they think he was in there the week before - he may be a local. There are many places in this county that need to take notice. I sure hope they catch him.

If it was 1200 hundred dollars, that would be the owners fault, Most places make cashiers put anything over 200 to 300 dollars into a safe. I too hope they catch him, I read somewhere that he had a Cajun accent.

It happened back in 1991 George Miller Jr. was a deputy at the sheriff's office and chased the guy all the way to laurel.
