What was up with all the racists at the convo? Why are you people so racist? You should be ashamed of the way your student body acted against Portsmouth kids. Pitiful!

Come on this is silly! These cheer blocks are all very mischievous ans say a lot of things, I was right beside this cheer block and I am fro Chesapeake there was nothing racist chanted. Both side plus the section andn older women section on the side they were all chanting things. Why is it when Portsmouth is involved they always try the racist thing. Come on. This isn't the first time you have stated this has happened. I am so tired of the rasict thing, these are kids. High school kids. Let them be kids. But then when almost all the boys on the Portsmouth team have tattoos all over them I guess role models are lacking in their environment. Hell they all look like they have been in the pen.

I am neither from Portsmouth or Valley and saw what happened. If it was not racist it was most certainly inappropriate, viscious and personal. The Valley school system should be ashamed and the school representative who was at the game should have stopped it.

When a high school student is wearing a banana suit, how should the players and Portsmouth faithful take it? Absolutely wrong in every aspect. I can't believe Valley admin didn't stop that.

He's worn that suit to 2 other games this year. it has nothing to do with race, you idiots. Do you know thay sell banana suits at halloween? I saw plenty of stuff the other side was doing and have heard many more about the way portsmouth fans treated valley fans that night. You should look in your own house anyway. The biggest racists around are from Portsmouth. They will talk about people all day long and be the first to line up to call others out. This was nothing to do with racism. Get over it. Portsmouth won in a great game. That should be what we remember.

Valley student cheer block is way out of control. I have witness the principal and the superintendent just stand by and not even acknowledge the cheers and chants that they were saying. Go to the their web page it has a picture of the kids with West shirts on. I know that is not a big deal, but it is a sample of how they degrade the other team with their cheers. How can a parent honestly say they don't hear their cheers or see their actions and think it is just kids being kids. If we can see it how can they not! They are totally out of control and it needs to stop! The actullay have a "Pep cheer class" at school to act like this! CHEER FOR YOUR TEAM AND LEAVE THE OTHER TEAM ALONE!!!!!!!!!

Where exactly on Valley's website is a picture of kids wearing West shirts? I could not find it. Is it bad to wear a West shirt? I see people wearing them all the time.
Who teaches the class at Valley that you mentioned? If there is a class, there has to be someone teaching it. I probably don't know the teacher, but I'd sure like to know more about who is assigned to do it. The administration decides what classes are to be taught and assigns teachers to teach specific classes.

Dear respect,
My question to u is, have u been to a wave fly, burg, west, Milford game? These schools have a cheer block just as active, and just as mischievous ?

Lets not forget the Portsmouth Cheer block making fun of the foreign student during the Fairland game. Does that ring a bell? Leave it alone. The problem is, the better team went home that Sat. Valley should have beaten the Trojans, but didn't. Good luck to the Trojans moving on. Can't wait to for football season. Portsmouth, welcome
To the SOC.

The real reason Portsmouth is not in the SOC has nothing to do with race. The years and years of Portsmouth people being obnoxious and hateful toward county residents AND schools is the reason. When the population of Portsmouth dropped and their enrollment dropped, plus the realization that the county schools had better ratings from the state---suddenly the SOC didn't seem to be too lowly for Portsmouth, after all. Don't be rude and hateful for years to someone, then expect to be invited in and loudly blame the other one when you're not.

Get over it, it has happened for years and will continue to happen. We have all fell for the political correct bs. Quit crying and suck it up, eat a banana, and be on your merry way.

Portsmouth city schools has more to offer than any other school in the area. Who cares about the state ratings. Academically and athletically Portsmouth has the best facilities and the opportunity to get the best education and life experience. These state ratings don't mean a thing. 85% poverty and 40% of the kids with some type of learning disability is why the scores at PHS are down. The top students at PHS are just as good as any other school in the area.

Not racist but offended

When you're checking out the film of the game, check out the 6 Portsmouth fans that came and crammed in to sit in the Valley section. There was plenty of room on their side. They were black and all gangster and blinged out. They were fine people. They really showed our children how not to act. They cursed and carried on until some of the parents asked them to hold it down. Then one of them jumped bad like he was offended. It was horrible the way they carried on with the profanity sitting right in among 8 and 9 year olds. Yep, this is what we want at all our games. Right!I amazed that someone else hasn't already posted about this event. Is that what we want all season, if they come into the SOC? I think not. We weren't being racist by asking them to quit with all the cursing. We just don't want to go to a ball game and listen to stuff like this. It was disgusting.

the paper of course did not write about the parents from portsmouth standing up a touching their behind and telling the cheer block to kiss their ass. it is people like the daily times that keeps these things going. they also didn.t say anything about the names they were calling the cheer leaders. there is no doubt that things were said on both sides. but they wonder why they are not voted in the soc. people get a life. those people that graduated from valley and now are back pedling that is a great example for your children.
