The victim was my cousin and I'm outraged that this young woman, who has a history of alcohol problems, is out of jail and back in school. Linda Smaltz was a mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister and her entire family is absolutely devastated and heartbroken. The drunk driver deliberately drank the alcohol knowing that she would be driving afterwards. As far as I'm concerned, this was deliberate act of murder.

I totally agree with you. I can not believe that this girl to trying everything in her power to get away with this. Like try to state that she was given permission to drink while on the bus back home. Come on now. Be responsible and take responsibily for what she has done. This poor family is at a lost now with out thier loved one. I hope she gets what she deserves with all due respect.

Thank you, Lovely. The drunk driver takes no responsibility at all for her actions. To her it's just an "oops!". I hope she spends some time in prison so she can do some serious thinking about what she's done. There is no way she can ever make restitution - you can't replace a life and fill the void that my cousin has left.
