TTU is to be congratulated for one of the biggest upsets in Big 12 history. I hope Tuberville is not too old to learn, like his young and determined players. Tuberville deserves a lot of credit for having his young team well prepared to play this game, mentally as well as physically.

Tech was not "fired up" when they beat Oklahoma last Saturday night (and Sunday Morning). They had the focus and deliberateness of a team with nothing to lose. They kept penalties and dumb mistakes on the field to a minimum.

The biggest mistakes came from the sidelines and from Coach Tuberville. His declining a chip shot field goal in the third quarter and going for it on fourth down cost Tech 3 points. Later in the game, his decision to fake a punt from inside his own 45 yard line eventually gave OU an extra 6 points.

Those are the kind of decisions that a team playing from behind and desperate for a win make. I guess Tuberville wanted a blow-out, but that greediness almost cost Tech the game.

Tuberville needs to limit his "riverboat gambling" plays to situations where Tech is playing from behind and time is running out.
