Just as long as the administration doesn't have to take any cuts! Or the teachers / staff pay a little more for benefits it's ok! School is for the kids! Any cuts from kids or programs should be last cut not first! administrators making over a 100 grand! That's the problem!

Maybe it's time to consider consolidating with Lowville and/or Carthage. The graduating classes seem to be getting smaller each year and NYS is pushing school districts to merge. BR might be better off doing it before the State forces them too. A merger could keep the current school as K-6 and allow for greater extra curricular activities K-12. It would probably reduce future tax increases, too. Just an idea to consider.

Did they lay off ALL music teachers? Or was it just Elementary music teachers? Or what was it...? It's irritating how many rumors and how few of facts are out there.

Someone told me even WITH these cuts they were still something like $400k in the hole?

i heard the Beaver River is going to function as an elementary school only and ship the highschool students to other schools. my neice will be going to LACS next year instead of Beaver River. i think it's a smarter idea for the smaller schools to merge to make larger schools before they are forced to make drastic changes. the education of the students should come first, not the staff's pay checks but that often seems to get overlooked. it's to bad this has to happen, beaver river is a good school with some good teachers.

How is it that BRCS is Graduating the Seniors a week early to START renovations on the Auditorium? Why bother? If they're cutting the Art, Chorus and Band programs there really isn't a need for the Auditorium, is there? Maybe they should think a little more on what the STUDENTS will actually benefit from and enjoy more, and not worry about upgrading something that is perfectly functional! I know there is a closed PTO meeting tonight, maybe this is what they should be discussing!

Maybe they should build a new football field.

Why did BRCS with enrollment down add on the middle school? Why do we need all the extra administrators? When Mr. Marcott and Mr. Green did a great job with more students. Seems that most teachers now have a punishment program for partents to sign. Spend more time teaching.

You need to put wind mills in first to finance it, like pukeville did.

They need to save our State dont you know? HAHAHA what a joke though...why not stop building roads for millions of dollars or cut the thousands of deadbeats on welfare? This state is a joke and deserves what they get. I can understand taking a little money but wtf?
