A judge not knowing enough to run for his position? The epitome of incompetence!

It took how long to figure this out? He's been working without being officially in this position for 3 months!

This is the Lewis County judicial system, weak and watered down.

it seems possible that the cases he has seen could be thrown out no matter what the charge. Lewis County could have a big black eye on this one.

Yeah , all those speeding ticket and jay walking tickets are gonna get thrown out.

BIG DEAL.
That judge is a fair and compassionate judge who made a mistake , like we all do (except tolerance is a Virtue).
Good thing ther are no laws against being a Dousche Bag ehh Virture.
Then maybe your ticket would get tossed.

The new election commissioner didn't catch this , why?

The sentencing in Lewis County is too lenient.

Why do you think this area has become so down-trodden? I'm not talking about jay walking either. I'm talking real crime, sex offenders, DWI, hit and run drivers, vehicular manslaughter etc.

The fact this judge didn't know enough to run for re-election speaks volumes. Why should we get all the flunkies?

And to people that want to think this was a mistake. Okay, you're right. Does that make it any better??

Being incompetent behind a register giving change is different than being incompetent in a position that hold this much responsibility. If a judge makes this obvious of a mistake what else is he responsible for that doesn't make the news?

this is an example of Lewis County voters getting what they deserve... more dumbasses. Lewis County has a reputation of not respecting ntelligence, but give illegal ATV trails and we'llall be fat and happy. this instance is just one more example of incompetence rising to the top in Lewis County.

ok 2 cents lets just take one case. Lets say a person was caught for DWI and went in front of this judge and was convicted. There were fines handed out which could be substantial. He could have had his license revoked. Now all that could potentially have to be dismissed and everything returned to this person and the record wiped clean. Who pays back the money? Who has to pay to restore his license? It is more then a small mistake that can be taken care of easily. If that person did jail time and possibly lost a job from it then who straightens that out? With drug busts on the rise it could be possible a person could have been busted for drug related activity which could have put them in jail as well as fines. Now this could be reversed and a drug dealer is back on the street being a danger to people. This judge im sure has seen more then just traffic tickets.

Bored,
Spoken like a true criminal.
He's already been convicted and your worried
about the dirt bag getting his license restored ?
Get real . Scum get off on technicalities all the time. I never said it was a smart move, the guy made a mistake, something you and your felon friends can exploit .
For the record Lowville is the welfare Capitol of the state , that's the issue , not a hard working retired chief of police turned judge making a mistake

Maybe he shouldn't been the police chief! The cops are way lenient, too!!

you seem to be an enlightend person of great education
tell us why lowville is the welfare captiol of the state, most of us would probably say lewis county in genral but that aside, why do you think lewis county is so poor.
Judges are there for a reason, if a technicalitie is the reason crimanals are walking free then we should train our police, sheriffs and troopers the proper way to do things so we elimanate loop holes
because alot of those technicalities have to do with rights, some of which are violated some are not but if your expected to follow the law so should those who represnt it a crime is a crime RIGHT?

To get things straight, the NYS is the Cadillac of welfare, let's not give Lowville all the credit.

I have been told it's not the judge's responsibility to remember to run for reelection. But to save my integrity, I'd probably mark it on my calendar.

Also, tolerance, I like you. You're willing to look at both sides.
I don't really know the judge or the situations to really speak about them. I do know it's pretty hard to take care of criminals and addicts though, it's certainly not a task a judge can take care of single-handed. Low income, uneducated people are nearly impossible to fix once they cross over to being criminals and users. It's really sad. You do what you can.

2 cents i have never been nor will i ever be a criminal. I just put up some examples of what could happen and you twisted it to your liking instead of looking at the truth. Crime does have a bearing on the state of our county thats true but not all crime is due to unemployment or people on welfare. Now the truth is this will also have a negative economical impact on the county. There has been more reported crime of people who are related to people in law enforcement and people related to the political part of government. How do you explain that? They arent on welfare? You tend to generalize a great deal 2 cents. To quote Mark Twain..all generalizations are wrong even this one.

Actually 2 cents you may be wrong about it not being a crime. I have heard they are checking into it being similar to someone posing as law enforcement when they are not.I guess time will tell. I realize he is a judge but he wasnt legally able to perform them duties. It may come down to how far people want to push this.

Leave to the BOE to screw up another election in this county. With everything on computers today you can't tell me that , that kind of information comes up.. They should have known. Things really need to change there. There to busy getting their hair done during working hours, or not showing up at work at all.
