There is certain agencies that we cant seem to say anything about on here. It is like a gag order. Heaven forbid you say anything about CPS or lately it is about the lewis county drug task force. wow they are super sensitive. I stated a rumor yesterday and even said it was a rumor and i didnt know if it was true and within 4 minutes the thread was taken down. All that does is make even more suspicious that the rumor may be true.

the rumor is that many of the drug sellers are related to the police department. If it is true or not i dont know but it really makes you wonder when the thread is taken down within minutes of it being posted. Whats your thoughts?

How related is related? Like parent and child?

I know everyone is related somehow to everyone else in the Lowville area. So, if you are a LEO and don't want to make your sister's husband's brother mad, you ignore the sister's husband's brother's son when you get a tip about him selling drugs.

You may have stumbled upon something here. This could very well be the case ... and the reason why the LEOs, the DA and the judges are so seemingly lenient when it come to crime in Lewis County, in general.

Leniency is not doing anyone any good. Some people can't learn by their mistakes let alone the mistakes of others doing and NOT getting caught doing the same thing.

Are the favorites family members, informants, or both?

The leniency or favoritism, whatever you want to call it, is not doing this area any good! We should expect more.

I have been advised to be very careful to not post any names or addresses or i could be in serious trouble. The best i will say is that in southern LC there is allegedly a woman selling pills and her uncle works for the sheriffs dept. and thats why she hasnt been busted. In central LC there is allegedly a woman who has broken in places and stolen drugs and other things to sell for drugs and her aunt works for the local PD and she allegedly got off charges because of that. There are other stories told in the neighborhood of other examples. If these are true then there is a serious problem. I guess the best question would be. Are the LC police departments willing to investigate their own?

Wow.[I recorded your post.]
Should prove interesting in the coming months or years.

What they do in the corporate world is they bring in a "hatchet man" to clean up the problem, you know like a new head of the department. That way no one feels personally slighted when they are let go.

Maybe the LC Sher Dept et al. could bring in some one from outside the area to clean up the place.

I would believe they would bring in an independent agency to investigate. I would see that as the proper way to get an unbiased decision. Will a rumor mentioned by multiple people be enough for an investigation though?

This sort of thing goes on in every town and city in America. Why are you people surprised? Cops drink and drive when the rest of us would get arrested. They speed on the highway and nobody bothers them. Some people are just more privileged than others. It has always been that way. This stuff is nothing new. Power corrupts. It's just that simple.

Carpinelli is from the outside and that is what he ran on. He has proven that he is just as bad as the rest of them. His solution to growing pot is leave his business card. I bet that took a bite out of the crime in lewis county. This county is corrupt from top to bottom.

First, one would have to find the proper authority that could/would actually do something concerning these rumors. Second, someone would have to prove that these rumors were based on truth. These are two VERY difficult tasks!

An alternative to investigating these allegations may be starting a Community Watch Group in Lowville. The direction would always be forward and positive. Who could argue with that? The more people involved, the more TRANSPARENT the process of curbing crime would have to be --- accountability may become popular. Here's a link:

I think you are mistaken Phil as to why your discussion would have been removed. You mentioned one person by name over and over. If it were me I would have had it removed also. So happy you paid your restitution, but maybe you should have gotten a lawyer who could have argued that it was a washout seeing how you both owed each other the same amount. Maybe you learned from your mistake not to smash other people's property etc....

looked into the hotline they has been introduced to LC. It is supposed to be an anon hotline that goes to an answering machine. The problem with this is it really isnt anon. they still have your phone number and address. Now pair this with the rumor and i can see how this can be a huge farce. It isnt hard to delete an answering machine. It would be easy for corrupt people to use your info to harass the accuser. It also gives off a feeling that they dont take you serious if it goes to a machine. Kind of a blah blah blah we will get to it when we want to and if we want to attitude. I can see people not using it for several reasons...many people dont like to leave messages. Talking to a machine seems pointless to many. How can this really work feeling.

hes a bit of info for your thoughts . some of the reason for the leniency is this . if they let the criminals keep committing crimes they keep the crime rate up and thus keep the need for so many law enforcement paychecks . its called job security people. if they crack down on crime the crime rate goes down and they loose their jobs .
