You are wrong..this is not what we are saying at all. We are trying to say that we are proud of kids and most of our coaches. It is only some like DN that spoil it for some of our kids. We have our basketball and volleyball players still going on right now and we are proud of them. For a small school we do great. Sounds to me you are the loser and are a little jealous of kids from BR dont be a hater

Im sorry but that is such crap. I was the daughter of a teacher last year. I was not given special treatment i worked my but off. I studied, and stayed at home doing hw when my peers went out to have fun. I ran, played volleyball, and threw shot and just like everyone else I had to earn my spot. I trained every summer studied every night and excelled, not because i was handed it because I was dedicated an worked twice as hard. My parents who were teachers pushed me to me the greatest, they didn't get me out of things. If I had done something wrong, I would get in trouble just like everyone else. Lastly because I was a teachers daughter, I was expected to work harder and excel. I gotten bad grades and I've sat the bench, but I got better by practicing extra and finally was put back in when I earned.

also, not every team can win, and not every coach can be a winning one. the boys are doing great this year and there is no need to discount the people willing to coach. Winning is great but its not everything and not every coach hired can be the greatest, most winning. Instead of bashing coaches and other people at BR how about just focusing on the positive aspects and congratulate the great athletes. Life is to short to be so negative. I am a very proud sister of one of our Beaver Ballers and I hope they make it all the way this year!

Well, we did it again. Our basketball team continues to move forward with pride. If you were there, you would of seen the pride and hard work the Beavers put into their team this year. Now, why would anyone say something negative about the Beaver River boys basketball team this year......unless of course they are jealous. Seems like our coaches are doing a fine job.

You are correct you guys did awesome and are to be congratulated on your hard efforts during your last game. BUT I can tell you that I was very embarrassed as a fan to watch the actions of one of your players!!! Especially a senior that should know better! SW was a let down on Friday night and in my opinion should have been benched due to his actions, he made BR look bad and that is not what I want other schools to think of us. He was rude, entitled, cocky, and frankly he played like sh**. When he disrespected his coached the other team and the fans that was the last time I will ever respect that kid as a player no matter how good he ever does....sorry but he should know better. BUT Beaver River as a whole did awesome you deserve going forward and good luck in your next game!!!(girls v-balls too good luck girls and great job this year!!)

First of all SW is not a senior all five starters are juniors,we only have one senior and he is our foreign exchange student, and second yeah SW was alittle overboard but he was pumped up it was a VERY emotional game and if it was not for him truefully we would not have one he hit a huge three and made those clutch free throws so go shove it up your ass! BR forever baby!

A little overboard, OK. Maybe he hit one huge three, but how many did he miss....7, 8. You can be pumped up without being disrespectful, all the other players were also, but they weren't disrespectful. He's lucky he didn't get a technical when he started waving bye-bye to the other team. The ref was pi**ed and in my opinion should have given him that technical. All the other players made clutch plays also and when he sat the bench is when you started coming back to get within reach of the lead, that's why you WON. It's great that you stick up for your teammate, that's what teammates are for, but other people see things a little differently. By the way, good luck Wednesday night. I hope the team does great!!

A little overboard??? Pleeze he was cocky as hell all night and that gets your ass kicked in most places or arrested as somed poeple on your very team know!!! Respect goes a long way and that is what BR used to stand for and I for one would like to think that is still does. You can have an emotional game but if you don't know how to handle your emotions at that level you shouldn't be playing. Like I said before you guys worked hard all year and you deserve where your headed so don't ruin it by acting that way, its the quickest way to lose fans and repsect from the people that have been there for you all year. Good luck Wed.

It would appear plenty of people care. losers like everyone else from Beaver River?? That sounds extremely immature and i'm sure you do not care about that either. You do seem to be very knowlegable perhaps you could tell us where are the winners are coming from these days??? And oh yeah, for someone who dosn't care why did you comment?? why did you click on the topic anyways?? I'm sure you can come up with some intelligent answers so lets hear it? Only a real winner would get a jolly from stereotyping people by which High School they went to. Good Luck Beavers with a WINNING record.

Well the truth is they don't go to a big school. If they did maybe you'd be right, maybe all or some of them wouldn't play and you mr truth would be the one to know seeing how you are probably at all the practices, games, and extra time the KIDS put in. Yes kids aka children. On the contrary to that note....could it not aslo be perceived that given the small number of kids (oh no a small school)that means less talent to choose from?? yes it does...so maybe just maybe they should get credit for not being a big school and having the winning record they do without a large talent pool to choose from? When you get to high school Mr Truth you'll get your chance to play and show us how good you are.

unfortunately one kid's actions tainted what was otherwise a fantastic high school basketball game. Kids see this kind of crappy behavior on TV and beleive it to be acceptable. I will chalk it up to being caught up in the emotion of an intense game and hope he realizes that his actions could have cost the team the game. These are 16 & 17 year old kids we're talking about afterall. It was great ro see a large contingency from Pulaski at the game as well and I hope they went away with the understanding that one kid's actions don't speak for an entire school. Wishing them well tomorrow night.

The coach is Mr. Petzoldt and he is a good coach. He was not happy with SW's actions and sat him in the third period...he just didn't head his warning I guess his attitude was a little more out of control that night. I agree with the last person when they said one child does not stand for the rest of the team but his actions could have cost them the game. Even though it looked like he was not disciplined at the games lets all hope that he was after or later. Like I said the coach is a good one and even though this a an every day thing on the JV level with DN and his son I usually do not see this on Varsity..good luck boys.

Its not about saying it too you face young man that is for your coach to do! Its about you having the knowledge and the integrity to NOT do what you did in the first place. YES its was an emotional game and I am all for getting your team pumped up but you don't do it by waving to the other team "bye bye"!! I wish I would have heard what the Ref said to you and you should have gotten a T for that. I hope you learned from it because kids makes mistakes and if you don't learn from them thats when its bad. Good luck at the Dome you guys derserve these wins you have worked hard and have a lot of supporters behind you.

Listen bud this sw brother Greg and I am not scared to tell you who I am. Hiding behind a phony name and ripping a HIGH SCHOOL basketball player is rediculous. If the coach is the one who should talk to him then you shouldn't be ripping him publicly. The ref did handle it correctly and warned him. Warnings precede technicals. And also he feels terrible for what he did and apparently you weren't at the last game because he was COMPLETELY composed. Let what was done in the past be a learning tool to become a better person in the future. Ill be glad to talk to you if you ever want.

yes I was at the last game and sometimes its harder to overcome bad behavior than it is good behavior and that is a lesson your brother is going to have to learn the hard way because of his actions. Im glad he feels bad...he should the only way people will know that is from future behavior. It maybe a hard lesson to learn but that is life!

Lets not forget that SW is in high school. Life teaches all of us hard lessons. Let the lesson speak to the individual and allow him to grow from it. Once again, adults should have the knowledge that living life gives. A teenager needs to learn from experience. Maybe you should make the opportunity to meet with SW. It seems you have a wealth of knowledge to give. Just remember, those who live in glass houses.......

Sw plays hard and with passion. If you want to see a team with "real" issues check this site about Cooperstown boys basketball. Crazy stuff. Hope the beavers knock them off! http://www.coophallofshame.com/hallofshamerof...
