Derek said he was glad to run with the watson boy's. but did you notice he didn't win alone? it was a team effort of which he was a part of. Any way the real winners were the on lookers who got a great show. To bad it rained so long as the last several heats might have been better if the track wasn't so wet. The guy's and [girl] from both twisted metal and the watson boys did a good job, i am sure the spectators will be talking about it for quite a while especially the car on top of the other one. would be nice to see them go back to the old day's with just 8 cars. yeah when i first started running we had 8 in a heat. then 10 and now 12 because of the large numbers of cars they used to have. seems there are fewer cars these days would be nice to see 8 or 10 again

The derby was awesome this year! I LOVED the team heat. I hope to see many more of them. As far as I am concerned, as long as these guys keep putting on a good show for us, it doesn't matter who is on whose team. And there is no bickering amounst players in public(like last year). You are all good at what you do. I loved the Humane Society heat as well. You go girls! The rain sucked though. THANKS FOR THE GREAT SHOW!

Why can't more people see it like this? The team heat was meant for the fans enjoyment. Nothing more... nothing less. So my name is DEREK (get the spelling right) and I'm not a watson boy normally, but i was part of their team for one heat. I'm not a "team extreme" driver. There's no such team to my knowledge. I drive for me and I drive for the fans who spend their hard earned dollars to come watch us as drivers put on a good show. So with that being said, its obvious by the end of the night not everyone will be happy with the results because that's just how "sports" work. The bottom line is, a neptune blue car waved the checkered flag so that makes it a victory for The Watson Boys. And give credit to the twisted metal team for coming out and accepting the challenge. I think the crowd enjoyed it. Everyone was a good sport, We all shook hands and no one got hurt. To me those are all the ingredients to a good friendly rivalry and good Saturday night entertainment in lewis county. Demolition Derby is just for fun. So I'm gonna personally thank everyone who built and brought out a car last night to play. The feedback is great every year for this event. See you all next year.

So I'm gonna personally thank everyone who built and brought out a car last night to play. The feedback is great every year for this event. See you all next year. well said. everyone who builds a car has spent countless hours in getting it ready to go out for 10 to 15 minutes of fun, and to hopefully put on a decent show for the fans. It's what keeps people coming back every year for. without the fans there would be no derby. i was on the track before the night derby and a couple women where asking some of the watson boys just what goes into building a car and how much it costs, and they were in awe as to the time and money spent. they had a whole different perspective of the derby itself after finding out these things if more people would take an interest in these things. there wouldn't be so much anomosity from people. another thing as far as i know i was the original watson boy . i put it on my first car in 1972. the next year Jack Albertson put it on his and it just grew from there. Vinny Ross didn't start running until a couple years after i did. but he is a part of the original crew. and after running the car i won the other night i might come out or retirement next year, who knows it was as much fun as i can remember.

Vinnie was 1 of the original and the only still running so he is aloud to do what he wants he doesnt have to have it on there for you to know that he is. Your always a Watson Boy
