oh my gosh, lmao... My husband nephew once was living with us and two of his friends. They moved up from Connecticut. They only had to pay 25.00 a week for three of them and they wouldn't pay the rent. So I got dressed in my old flannel night gown, my husbands work boots and went out into the driveway with a big pot and was picking up nice round rocks that look pretty clean. I was in the kitchen scrubing them and his nephew said what are you doing. I said I'm boiling these up for stone soup. And he looked at me like what is that. I said the broth is really good. But I looked like granny Clampet. Well later on they came in the house and that pot of rocks was boiling away. It wasn't long before they coughed up the money, so I could buy some groceries because I don't think they like the look of the broth. That was about 26 years ago. lol

I took a course at BOCES in 1990 and our teacher was getting married after the school year. Her new husbands name was Toby Fingar. She said he got harrassed alot because he was a typing teacher for a school up North.

Also a speaker came to Lowville in the 1980's a couple of times. Her first name was Debbie and she was getting married. She didn't know if she would keep her maiden name because her new husband's last name was Ogg.. She said her new name would be Debbie F Ogg and didn't think it went well together. I can't remember the husbands first name or her maiden name.
