taking a poll/getting feedback on the following....

If a shop opened, in Lowville, selling edible "floral" arrangements...(similar to edible arrangements that is currently open in Watertown)

Is this something people in the area are interested in?

I think the idea is great however I feel that it is too expensive. I'm not sure what the cost to make is But I am personally not willing to pay $50+ for a small arrangement without chocolate.

It would not be the franchise itself; it would be a smaller, private owned shop. Therefore, not such crazy expensive prices either.

I think this is a great idea!!
Lowville needs more of a variety in what they offer so people don't have to drive so far!

I think you have a pretty good shot then. Best of luck! Just keep in mind the importance of customer service.

It would be extremly hard to make a living selling edible "floral" arrangements in this area.DO you honestly think people in lewis county could afford to buy them, you would be better off in a city with that type bussiness.

I am not against the business itself. It does well in other areas. My concern would be how well would it do in this area until we get more people into jobs. If a business would open here that created more employment for the area then I feel it would do well. Right now it may not get enough business to sustain it for long.

Although I really like the idea, and may go there sometimes ... in general people pamper THEMSELVES when they don't have money. Very few would pamper others when they don't have money.(I think an edible arrangement shop falls into the "pamper others" category.)

I know this is off topic, so excuse me for babbling on your edible arrangement forum ...

I wonder how difficult a fish truck would be to get (rent?) once a week ... and make a weekly trip to the coast (sounds like fun) to bring a load back to Lowville?

It could be parked at a local farmers market that goes on once a week. I wonder if Walmart would give someone a OK to park in their parking lot?

Fishtruck? Well Tom, about 10-15 years ago a young man tried that, and the business was a relative success until..........the young man was busted by the state. Apparently there are some serious licensing dramas one has to passs through in order to sell foodstuffs and transport the produce.

Our intrepid young man was buying outside of Boston, and bringing the food into the state, the regulations proved to be too burdensome.

There is a gypsy fish monger in Watertown, he operates out of the Sguare and a couple local markets.

The fish must still be around because when I go to the bar on the weekend all I smell is mackeral.
