Review: Village Of Macksburg

I am doing research on my ancestor, Aurelius Longfellow's son, James Benjamin Longfellow DOB Feb 22, 1871. Is there a newspaper in Macksburg? Do you know where they might store any microfilm from the late 1800's-early 1900's. I am looking into a story about my grandfather, Ben Longfellow, that would have been written up in a local paper back then. Any help would be appreciated.

Your James' mother was 1/2 sister to my grt grt Grandfather, James DAVIDSON. My family lived in Macksburg from 1833 until my Dad left in the 1940's,and my grandparents were there until the 1960's. I was there often as a youngster. Been doing family history for that area for 20 years.
There used to be a newspaper called the Macksburg Times, but I don't beleve anyone has an archive. Much of the Macksburg news was printed in the Marietta newspapers. The town is very quickly dying (pop abt 200 on a good day), and not many of the old families still exist there. Would love to find someone who has a trunk full of old albums or newspapers, but so far, no luck.
There IS still a grandson of James B's brother Samuel Benton Longfellow living in Max.
Could you tell me how you descend from "Ben?" Glad to share the information I have.
