It is very interesting that this issue of Mr. Duane big eagle Sr. is getting less attention from the Native News media,
Mr. Duane Big Eagle Sr. will not allow the people a Blood test.- A suspected Non-Native tribal Chairman.
Traditionally,,, It was said that no one person is more important than that of the tribe as a whole.
That is too much power for one man to have over a whole tribe,, especially for a ''Non-Native'' person to have over a whole tribe.
Calling All Help.
to end this corrupt regime once and for all.

a cousin of mine had told me they are reading these fourms from the computer they get to use in the tribal office,,,
they are sure the tribal council members were informed of these fourms.
It seems the tribal council may have no interest in outside public fourms in the news about Crow Creek.
but now, we know they know.
also,, being a relative of a council member, I too have forwarded these fourms to him.
No Response :)

With as many people on the crow creek reserve with computers and with those others reading these fourms from the tribal office computer,,, and still no responses on the current issues,,,
Many responded in the Pierre paper,,, but,, mainly to publicly blame their Elders.
it Gives you a reality perspective on the actions / non-actions of the crow creek members over all these years of corruptions in question,,, 1996 - 2010.
silance & ignore,,, ignorance(?,,,,

It really doesn't take a dumb Indian to see all of this coming from 33 years ago. when a certain chairperson pretty much set the standards for greedy dirty politics. Indicted her too, She walked and continued to be at the Tribal Office showing her followers how to take whatever they wanted. It was easy cause our constitution. which is so out dated ,and so very ambigious. No one really knew eoungh to argue. The government's laws that poor Indian people are supposed to obey.
As it is today the only law the BIA enforced is the Public intoxacation. Thanks to those politians keeping the votes making sure the drunks got a bottle and ride to the polls. now we got casinos to help with the funds. where the general fund runs low. Sorry for my little grand children
Duane's blood isn't all white he managed to get a few little brown babies on cc rez. I really wonder how much crow creek he claims to be??? NOT!
take a DNA blood test and prove it so we can all move on to something we don't know. Who else has owership of any Indian Lands at Crow Creek being non Indian...thanks to our white leaders or married to a white man.

I've seen it written and I heard it stated ,,,'seeing bad things written about you and hearing bad things said about you, is embarrassing,, it makes you feel bad and it causes some amount of pain and anger'.
That is very true,,,, and in which case,,,
The People of the Crow Creek Nation has every right to feel somewhat violated and embarrassed.
(for many years now).
Without some serious Education and without New Information,
The Crow Creek Nation will continue to repeat it's mistakes,, again and again, time after time.
as if the Crow Creek Nation is at a stand still in time itself.
Other than people growing older with the same ole complaints, while our only elders are dying, leaving.
(keeping in mind,, some really are Elders and some are just 'Old Guys').
In the mean time,,,
We must not forget about the dangers upon the people brought by the METH DEALERS on the Crow Creek Reserve / reservation.
Down with Alcohol, Cigarettes, METH & Drugs.
Up with Pride.
(yes you can).

Speaking of land ownership by (enrolled) non-indians on our reservation... Because the tribal council allows non-indian supporters to become (illegally) enrolled is how we are losing our land to whites. Recently, some wasicus who attended Stephan school long time ago came back to the rez from Sioux Falls and somehow got themselves enrolled (illegally). Their great grandma was 4/4 CC Sioux but great grandpa was white. Their grandma was 1/2 CC Sioux but grandpa was white. Their mother was 1/4 CC Sioux but their dad was white. Now, they got enrolled but they cannot be any more than 1/8 CC Sioux which does not qualify them to be enrolled. Yet, they are buying up CC Sioux land. One of them even changed his wasicu name to an Indian sounding name just to further try to pretend to be one of us. They are holding tribal jobs that our REAL tribal members should have. Most of these wasicus are very blond haired with very blue eyes. That is how people like Duane Big Eagle and others got their start here. They get illegally enrolled and then they have a free pass to take advantage of our system to include running for political office. Our enrollment clerk needs to go through the list and weed out all those who shouldn't be enrolled and take them off the list.

("so be it" in Hebrew).
I was told, "Because" of Mr. Duane Big Eagle Sr. being Crow Creeks Tribal Chairman for many years,
again and again, time after time, rotating,
The Crow Creek Reservation doesn't actually have Blood Quantum Laws protecting the people.
The Crow Creek Reservation does have Blood Quantum Laws on the records and written into the tribal laws,,,
but still, it means nothing if they are not enforced by the tribal council.
I sometimes wonder if the Crow Creek Reservation will be the 'first' reservation in the whole Great Sioux Nation to lose their so called "sovereign" status?.
it's a chilling thought.

this was just passed on to the groups:
Crow Creek bribery trial is delayed by health woes
The medical condition of a key witness in a federal bribery case against the Crow Creek tribal chairman has led the U.S. Court to continue the trial until Aug. 1. It was set to begin June 7.
By: Anna Jauhola, The Daily Republic
The medical condition of a key witness in a federal bribery case against the Crow Creek tribal chairman has led the U.S. Court to continue the trial until Aug. 1. It was set to begin June 7.
The United States moved on May 27 to reschedule the trial against Duane Big Eagle Sr. because witness Archie Baumann is being treated for cancer. Baumann, who was a contractor doing business at the Crow Creek Reservation, allegedly gave money to Big Eagle as a bribe.
According to U.S. Court documents, Baumann is the only witness who "can testify to his own state of mind in giving the money to Big Eagle and verify that the payment was not for some legitimate purpose."
Baumann, a Fort Pierre resident and construction contractor, was sentenced to 15 months of imprisonment, three years of supervised release, a $34,000 fine,$2,000 in restitution, and $100 assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund in August.
Baumann, Norman Thompson, Randy Shields, and Thomas Thompson were charged with numerous counts in a scheme to obtain tribal contracts through bribes. All pled guilty to one or more charges.
Shields, Norman Thompson, and Thomas Thompson were elected Crow Creek Sioux Tribe officials.
Baumann is being held at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., and receiving chemotherapy one week every four weeks.
"His cancer and current course of treatment are clearly significant reasons for his unavailability; so significant that the Bureau of Prisons determined that a request from the Department of Justice should be refused to protect his health," reads the U.S. Court document.
If Baumann's health, treatment or age continues to prevent his travel to testify at the trial, the federal prosecutor requests a Rule 15 deposition. This deposition can be used in place of appearing for testimony at a trial due to "exceptional circumstances," according to the court document.
The prosecutor estimates the deposition, should it be needed, would only take about two hours.
A South Dakota Department of Tribal Relations staffer said Big Eagle was still the tribal chairman as far as her office knew.
No one from the tribe answered or returned numerous calls from The Daily Republic.

It's really embarrassing that duane big eagle is still being paid to be chairman when he hasn't shown up for any council meetings in many months. Our constitution says if any council member misses three consecutive council meetings they can be removed from office. Nowhere else in this country could anyone get paid big bucks for doing nothing. And nobody on the tribal council has the guts to answer questions about him. This tells me that all of the so-called leaders are spineless cowards and "hiding out". Leaders or what? They all should be ashamed of themselves but then I guess they don't have a conscience. I thought Peter Lengkeek or Wilfred Keeble was going to be the conscience but it looks like they threw in the towel too. What's next will probably be more of the same or maybe even worse (if that's possible). Maybe the people of Crow Creek Sioux Tribe are just getting what they deserve because they continue to vote such crooks into office.

Chamberlain, SD . " I thought Peter Lengkeek or Wilfred Keeble was going to be the conscience but it looks like they threw in the towel too."
What changed?, P. Lengkeek and Wilfred Keeble?.
Wasn't these the last two strong holdouts loved by the people?.
it seemed it was just a few weeks ago when people here on the net were saying it was these two council members that were seriously striving for a change for the people of Crow Creek.
Two against the rest of the council members, maybe they just got out voted and are in need of more of the peoples support?.
Can't give up yet, Archie will sing on August 1st.
(Get well soon Archie, at the moment, the people's future is in your hands.)
#13 Jun 11, 2011
I hope you're right about Archie singing. We're all well aware of how things seem to go sour at the last minute when it comes to getting justice on this rez. I'm frustrated about all of these trial delays and tactics duane big eagle is trying to use. He's a slippery one and has been a very cunning crook for many years. He deserves to be held accountable and we (the people) deserve justice. There is still too much secrecy going on in the tribal hall. Many rumors but no explanations!
#14 Jun 11, 2011
CC Triabl Member;
Let's say your feelings are right about the trial delays,
Do you maybe 'feel' than, that all these trial delays are really attempt's to last until his term is up on council as Tribal Chairman?.
As it is a Lawyers duty to get in as many postponements as possible,
which can go on for years?, depending on how many times the Lawyer can convince the Judge.
Rule 15:''the witness signs under oath the deposition transcript''...
( maybe even a Video Camera?, the witness in custody can wave the right to be present.)
we will see August 1st.
As for all the ''tribal sovereign "secrecies",''
I have been requesting someone get an internet tribal web site operating,
daily, weekly updates, Ideas from all nations, it might help with some of the rumor's.
record and rebroadcast tribal meetings on the web site.
pow-wow's (just like 'you-tube') including some wacipi music for spirit.
it will take a little work, funding's and computer knowledge. tribal or non-profit status.
I'm sure some adventurous person at the fort must know how to design and operate a web site?.
why would we not want an Internet tribal website?.
otherwise, not to much else information-wise will have changed.
especially if the other's really have thrown in their towels already.(?).
( It's been said the other's are reading these blogs here too, which means our tribal chairman Duane Big Eagle Sr. is also being kept updated.)

MADISON, Wisconsin — The former vice president of the Ho-Chunk Nation and two other tribe members were indicted by a federal grand jury Wednesday and charged with taking millions of dollars in bribes.
Timothy G. Whiteagle, 59, Deborah Atherton, 54, and Clarence P. Pettibone, 52, all of Black River Falls, are charged in a 14-count indictment.
Whiteagle faces 96 years in prison if convicted, Pettibone faces 40 and Atherton faces 25 years.
Between 2002 and 2009, Whiteagle and Atherton acted as behind-the-scenes consultants for clients hoping to do business with the Ho-Chunk Nation, according to the Justice Department.
In exchange for favorable treatment, Pettibone accepted cash, a Pontiac Firebird, NFL tickets, contributions to his re-election campaign, a job for one of his relatives, vacations and visits to adult entertainment venues, among other valuables.
Federal prosecutors say Whiteagle and Pettibone consulted with each other on how to use Pettibone’s official position, and that Pettibone knew the money and valuables were given to him to influence and reward him for assisting the clients.
The clients included companies that provided check cashing and ATMs at Ho-Chunk casinos and a company that sought to provide mortgages and housing for tribal members.
Whiteagle received more than $3 million dollars from the clients, according to the Justice Department.
Whiteagle also is charged with tax evasion and filing false tax returns, and Pettibone is charged with making a false statement to FBI agents.
Pettibone since 2002 has served as vice president, chairman of the tribal legislature’s Finance Committee, and as a member of the legislature’s Development Committee.
Now, tell me what's the difference between Duane Big Eagle accepting money and gifts from Winter Hawk Energy Company to get their wind power generators onto our reservation and what these three Ho-Chunk people did? It's the same damn thing as far as I can tell. Duane and Winter Hawk Company are back again with their "all you can eat" fried chicken meetings to try and get the unsuspecting Crow Creek tribal members to go along with their scheme (scam). Out and out bribery!

"Now, tell me what's the difference between Duane Big Eagle accepting money and gifts from Winter Hawk Energy Company to get their wind power generators onto our reservation and what these three Ho-Chunk people did? It's the same damn thing as far as I can tell. "
This may not be the answer your looking for, but "The Difference".(?).
All defendant's named,,( Timothy G. Whiteagle, 59, Deborah Atherton, 54, and Clarence P. Pettibone, 52 )
They were all born Native?.
(ok, yes, It may be ''detrimental to living relatives'', but I really am curious, if Duane is a Non-Native, are we the first tribe to have a non-native tribal chairman?.
If so, It also violates 'Treaty Law', Isn't the Crow Creek Reservation a Treaty tribe?.
If so, Isn't the Treaty suppose to 'protect' the people too?.
After I read the circulating Judges rule, I have always wondered, who is that rich masked man?.)
As for the rest of it,
I think we should keep in mind, there is still hope, we have heard them here, we have good people helping us, they have prosecuted corrupt tribal council members before,
I'm sure they realize it's been going on this way for us for years, our Infrastructure monies, to: The reason 'why' we are such a Low Risk status Tribe.
( I do not think, the Federal Judge will blame the people for questioning a few of their elected leaders on charges,'this time', especially seeing the convictions of Norman Thompson Sr. & Archie.)
"Free Chicken for the people" Is a very good Idea, I think that should happen more often,
Maybe now they will support Mr. Chauncey Long Crows "Feed the hungry children" program as well?, spread the wealth, seeing how they are in such good nature,
Although, I'm sure 'Free Chicken' can't buy off the traditionalists, nor, those present on council that said they wanted to work towards positive change,
no matter how good the fried chicken tasted.
their Men of Principles. people of principles.
( maybe this might be a good time for the committee to ask the council to support a Tribal Internet web site?.).?.

Duane is probably holdingprayer meetings hoping Archie will die....hurry up USAtty's office w/ Rule 15 deposition!

ya know, we wouldn't be in this mess with duane big eagle if the tribal counsil would set strict rules about who can be enrolled members. the dolezals somehow got on the rolls and they arn't even 1/4 any kind of indian. but they are frens with some council members so they got in. just because they say they are descended from tribal ancestors doesn't make it true. they arn't enough to qualify for membership. that's how we keep losing land and electing corrupt politicians. just look at duane big eagle and others like him. people who grow up here don't think like those outsiders who didn't grow up here. all the outsiders want is personal gain and to he#% with the real indians. lets get rid of the wacicus masquarading as crow creek sioux.

This may be somewhat of a rumor, or, it may have some truth to it....
I heard Crow Creek 'Really Does' have Blood Quantum Laws,
It's in the Constitution and By-Laws.
but, the Law simply isn't supported or, enforced.
I remember back 'ten years ago' or, so, "The Lakes of The Brave" a Crow Creek Rez. Political Group / Organization was voicing themselves on the behalf of some of the people,
'The Lakes Of The Brave' questioned the Blood Quantum of Mr. Duane Big Eagle Sr. through a Blood Test.
The group later circulated information relating to the Federal Judges ruling on 'The Lakes Of The Brave's' Blood Test request.
it said something similar to,, the idea that,, the request would be 'Detrimental to Living Relatives'.
We all know what happened to our Crow Creek Tribal Chairman Mr. Duane Big Eagle Sr. since then,
What ever became of 'The Lakes Of The Brave'?.
It's kind of funny none of you from Crow Creek remember this incident.
In a long run, it seems, it was more detrimental to the People of Crow Creek.
Now see where we all are.'ake'.
'August' is only a few weeks away.

Ex-Soboba tribal chairman sentenced for taking bribes
Palm Springs Desert Sun
The former chairman of the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians has been sentenced to 41 months in federal prison for taking $875,000 in bribes and concealing that income from the IRS.
Let's hope our infamous and corrupt tribal chairman (duane big eagle) gets at least twice that sentence.
