Lower Brule Tribe should pay it all out to all tribal members, including those living off reservation, should not use it to pay millions in debt the tribal council incurred without the tribal members knowledge, for bad investments (WestRock)and bad loans for overpriced land and overspending habits.

i believe for one the money should be dispersed to the people its not our fault that the wrong people got in and made a debt i heard something that got me upset that a council memeber complained that "its the tribes money" well what the hell we are the tribe the people make up the tribe and the deal with an application process whats up with that?

I agree that "WE" are the tribe. However, I disagree that "its not our fault that the wrong people got in". It IS our fault that we elected the "wrong people". Even now we are not holding our councilmen accountable. They meet for one council meeting per month for about an hour or two and they are paid big bucks for a couple of hours "work" per month. What "work" do they do to deserve that? Where are the good ideas that should be coming from them. How are they bringing in jobs and development? I predict we will remain a poverty stricken tribe for many many years to come because "we" continue to elect people who are not intelligent leaders, just nice guys who don't know anything about leadership.

I think it is strange that "we" think we are entitled to any of that money. If "we" all want to better our reservations, then we should bail our selves out of debt before the governemnt takes it from us because we owe so much because WE MISMANAGE everything. Sure--it would be nice to get a few hundred buck but we are not talking about neough per person to raise any of us above the reservation issues. That amount of money coul reboost our tribal funds so that we restart and maybe even start getting profits from our tribal businesses/casino.
