Grier put the smack down on our boys. I know we're a smaller team but, we are a fast athletic team that needs to be coached up. I'm not a coach and maybe I shouldn't even be saying anything. I just wondered if anybody else had an opinion.

The guys at the middle school do a great job. Not everybody is a star. Not everybody can make the team. Be thankful that you are not at Grier or somewhere or these kids would probably be watching from the stands. I have heard good things about this basketball coach. Bless him for taking on this job.

This is not rec league anymore. I'm pretty sure everyone "does" make the team there. Ever heard of the "5th" quarter in football?? We have become a society that rewards "mediocrity". Everyone plays, everyone is a winner and at the end of the day, everyone gets a trophy....not to mention snacks!! Things were much different in my childhood.

you are right. i agree with most of that. different society nowadays. that said, part of the different society is every parent thinks their kid is a whole lot better than he/she is. its a two way street, and the parents have changed more than anything from when we all were younger. that whole football team shoudl have played fifth quarter from what ive heard. looks like the same group from football is playing basketball
