Why would you limit it to only one breed of dog... And please, don't go into the but pits are vicious act...as any dog that is not properly socialized and is mistreated can be vicious. Next thing you know we'll be seeing BSL here too. Also any intact male dog of any breed will tend to have more aggressive and dominant behavior.

This is a great idea! There are too many pits owned by ghetto trash that are trained to be vicious. Unfortunately they will not utilize this due to the fact they wont be able to sell puppies to their "boyz".

If you go into any local shelter and ask you would learn pit bulls account for a large percentage of dogs taken into the shelter.

This may just be one way they are trying to bring down the numbers of pit bulls who have to be euthanized every year.

I have one of these lovely dogs and I can't imagine not having her in my family - I also can't imagine owning a dog you do not have altered. Spaying and neutering all pets should be required until we stop killing thousands of unwanted pets in shelters every year.

Could you please be willing to show me where you get your "fact" from? Pit bulls are no more dangerous than any other breed. Unfortunately they have had so many people train them for the wrong reasons and they have a bad rap. Any dog can potentially be dangerous. If a dog has not been socialized, or has been abused it has a higher chance of becoming a "bad dog". On one of my training lists there's a lab that might have to get put down due to fear aggression from mistreatment. I have seen chihuahuas that would happily take your hand off if they could get past your ankles. It's not a breed issue, it's a training issue.

Yes, any breed of dog can be vicious but few breeds can generate 1500 lbs of pressure with their jaws. Not too worried about the Chihuahua.

Pits are wonderful dogs! They are very smart and love to cuddle. Unfortunately so many people are uneducated about them and only get their information from the stories blasted on the news. I have never been bitten/attacked by a pit bull but have had to pull quite a few ankle biters off of me.

Personally - I think any dog not over 30 pounds is just a cat.

Wow.I've got 2 X 4's out in the garage that are smarter than some people on here.Pits are some of the best family pets ever.It's all in the training-just like any other dog.As I said in a different thread,I deal with dogs every day with my job and I can tell you that ALL dogs bite.Some are just quicker to do so than others.I've had more problems with Labs than other breeds.
