i think that the minimum wage should be the same for teenagers as it is for adults. no one should get a lesser minimum wage because of their age.

not likely.
a minimum wage increase should be a drop in the bucket.

right...... you keep tellin yourself that..

but really think about it.... that "drop" in the bucket might cost a few people there jobs... Money is already really tight at 90% of workplaces.

we need more small businesses. that way, there won't be so many drops in the bucket.

plus, it's a matter of principal. everyone with the same job should be paid an equal rate.

when i was talking about drops in the bucket, I was talking about businesses' cost... soo it really won't matter if there were more small businesses.

If everyone worked 100% equal, that'd make cents...

They need more customers. So less businesses mean more business for the ones left.

In a socialist/communist world everyone would get paid the same.

People work at very different levels and are not equal at all, so it would be a cataclysmic failure to attempt to adjust people salaries based on their work output...an employer would have about 740 pay rates at minimum wage, which would fluctuate each day as performance can changes each day.

yea... that was the point i was tryin to make... socialist/communist=fail
the issue with that is, why work hard to get ahead when everyone else is just pussin along?

i'm not talking about everything being perfectly equal. i'm talking about equal OPPORTUNITY, and NOT equal RESULTS.

my point is, no one should be paid less than a standard minimum wage. there should not be a lower minimum wage for a particular segment of employable society.

that, i do not know. i just believe that the minimum wage should be the same for everyone.

the youth minimum wage can be raised to match the adult minimum wage. OR, the adult minimum wage can be LOWERED to match the youth minimum wage. either way, the minimum wage is equal.

The only issue i have with that is the youth minimum wage isn't meant to try to support living. by that i mean for the most part, there at home still with mom and/or dad.

here's a thought. parents can insist that their teenagers get a job, and pay for some of their own expenses. that will save mom and dad some money.

of coarse it is.

and the youth minimum wage can be raised to the adult minimum wage, because some parents would want to do this (among other reasons).

Then again were back to the point, less teens would be working if that would come to law
