My sincere condolences go out to the family of this man, especially his son, who now has to grow up with no father. I hope they find the person or people responsible for this awful, senseless tragedy.

Of Coarse, these stories really bite my behind. Always the same old song and dance for the '''fallen hero dad'' He was such a great man and everyone loved him and blah blah blah. He was stabbed to death! People don't just get stabbed to death for no reason. He was hard up for money according to this story. Shoe repair in NH and the seven eleven wasn't enough. Perhaps a dept that wasn't paid? Perhaps drug money? You know just once I'd like to see one, JUST ONE Lowell Sun story read He got stabbed but that miserable guy had it coming.
Hope everyone had nice Thanksgiving
Shame on you. You really should change that name because surely you have no class.

Why don't you crawl back into the filthy hole you just crawled out of and stay there. No one wants to read your crap.

...yet he continues to post it because it gets a rise out of people.

Although random killings in Lowell are fortunately rare, the guy deserves the benefit of the doubt and what Touch of Class said was just cold, mean, and really premature. Until the LPD comments on what they suspect the motive was we have no reason to suspect anything about Mr. Alwarad that is negative. Sounds like he was a married man, a loving father, gainfully employed, and had no record. There was that fatal stabbing this year or last that was over a mugging for $5 and beer simply because the guy resisted the four kids that jumped him. My guess, and it is only a guess, is that something very similar happened here as well.

The victim obviously witnessed something happen. That 7-11 has gangbangers hanging out there all the time, and the pay phone is constantly used for drug deals.

Maybe he just had to work two or three jobs to survive. People do have to do that nowdays. And people do get stabbed to death for no reason, it sadly happens everyday. Why are you trying to turn this dead man into a POS? Someone took his life? Does anyone really deserve to "have that coming to them"

I've used that store many times and can tell you that all the employees I've net there are nice, hardworking people. Most of the customers, on the other hand, are junky scumbags. They probably thought he was going to the bank to drop money, or he wouldn't let them use the restroom to shoot up, or he called the cops on drug dealing loiterers, something like that. To say he got stabbed for any other reason besides being a victim is absurd considering the surroundings, too much TV for you Touch of Class.

I was 7-Eleven Friday night around 9pm to buy some gum while my gf pumped gas. That tendant was the one that waited on me. He was nothing but nice and professional. Its definitely a shame what happened to him, and it has been freaking me out since last night that I might have been one of the last people to talk to him while he was alive :(

"touch of class' post needs no reply" some people just have no clue. My condolences to his family and friends, they are the ones suffering right now.

Nice Job by you....in getting your girlfriend to pump your gas. I can tell you're a smooth operator. Best to teach them early so they know what to expect when things get serious.

I live less than a couple of miles from this store and it's scary thinking that there are three people out there that could commit murder and their walking around free possibly in my neighborhood. I'm concerned for other store/restaurant owners and their safety along with any innocence customers. Shut the store down before something else bad happens at this location. The city rally needs to look at the very neglected Lower HIghlands and Highland neighborhoods. Stop spending all your money downtown...you're neighborhoods are crumbling. I've lived here all my life and it's the first time I've ever felt unsafe.

Sacrafyc you never disappoint with your insightful intelligent comments. Obviously incidents like this are ripe for speculation in forums such as these, but why don't we relax and give the family time to grieve and investigators time to sort through the facts before we drag reputations through the mud.

Yeah, kind of like those that are killed because the thugs didn't get what they wanted. Yep, you sure deserve to be stabbed for that don't you Touch of Ass?

Some of us know your nothing but a troll, but why not man up and use your real name?

And I did have a nice Thanksgiving, thanks for asking.

Mazen was a good hearted person. I had the pleasure of working with him at Dunkin Donuts, and he always had a smile. He had a love of music. I made him a CD of the Beatles White Album and Iron Maiden.
