I'm very, very pleased to her that Demoulas is going to do something with that plaza...I have been a customer of Demoulas for the most part of my adult life, I'd never go anywhere else. A big 'Thank You' to the Demoulas Family for everything.

I hope Market Basket does something to improve customer service next. Too often, I've had to deal with teenagers who are more interested in chatting about last weekend's huge party than they are with helping customers or immigrants who don't speak or understand a word of English. They never have enough registers open. The shelves are a mess. The people responsible for bagging my groceries throw my potatoes on top of my bread and can't seem to keep all the refridgerated stuff together. I've dealt with so many price discrepancies. They never have enough help at the deli and bakery departments. I try speaking to the store manager at the one I shop at in Billerica and I see no improvements in the store at all. All I'm asking for is a lille respect when I shop.

Yeah, I think maybe helping those who don't speak english would work if those who don't speak english would try to help themselves by learning to speak english.

Man what is your problem. I love that you are a Red Sox fan, but all you must do is complain. Grow Up. Why don't you bag your own groceries and if you go to Market Basket that much why do you need to ask where something is. All supermarkets are laid out the same so you should have a general idea of where something is.

Please tell me you are kidding about putting a walmart there. That would be the worst thing ever. That store sucks.

They must need the extra store space to increase the sixe of the Goya section.
Shopping at that store and the Wal-Mart up the road is like taking a vacation to Mexico or Cambodia.

so true, so true...I sometimes feel like I'm in West Virginia when I shop at the Walmart at Drum Hill...the lack of teeth is frightening.

In keeping with the high quality of merchandise and service, family wages and benefits to employees and overall responsiveness to the community it serves, Market Basket is tops. Walmart does not belong there.

Agreed customer service needs to be stepped up a bit. I was in a Market Basket the other night and all the bagger and cashier could do was roll their eyes at me. The time before that, all I got was a blank stare, no hello, no kiss my @ss, no nothing. I realize they are kids working there after school for the most part but a smile and a have a nice day goes a long way.

I also think Market Basket needs to do something about Customer Service. It's not even just the high school kids. I've encountered quite a few rude adults working there. The last time I ever shopped at MB, I had forgotten my checkbook at home (An honest mistake!) and didn't realize until after the cashier had rung up my order. The assistant manager came over to suspend my order and loudly berated me for causing her a minor inconvenience. I left my order at the register and have never gone back. I'd rather pay a few extra dollars and get treated with a little respect.

Bad CS? Must be that particular store (and that dumpy neighborhood). I love my local Market Basket. The nicest people work there.

The particular one I was speaking of is in Tewksbury's stadium plaza. I wouldn't consider that too dumpy...
