As a parent of children that have attended Tewksbury High School, I am not surprised this happened.
Ms Lally needs to have more education in dealing with people.
In dealing with her I have found her very rude and accusatory which has upset me and made me angry. As an adult I can deal with it better than a child.
In past experience dealing with her, I am sure the students do not know how to deal with her.
She knows how to push people emotionally.

Doesn't matter how Lally acted, this girl should not be assaulting anyone. This girl has issues and sending her away is best for kids at school.

Regardless, that kind of behavior is unacceptable and the brat should get put over a knee and spanked like a 5 year old, since it sounds like her actions are equally as mature.

Maybe the parents should teach the kid how to respect her elders.

It is sad, but the parents must have had some sort of idea that this girl is as violent as is seems. She probalby should have gotten help before being carted out of school after causing such a scene.

Definitely not defending the girl, she needs to learn to control her temper.Only making a comment on the behavior of a poor principal.

You are correct. I have come across parents with problem children and most ignore the issue. They just make excuses for their kids actions instead of addressing the problem. Kid only gets worse as they get older.

Kids today are getting worse and even more disrespectful. Some cross the streets like there aren't any cars. And I mean busy streets. Kids like this should be sent to juvie. QUICK.

Not defending this young lady's actions, but you need to realize that respect needs to earned, no matter how old or young one is, no matter what position you are in. Only the weak and feeble minded believe respect is a given for "your elders".

Parents these days are not being held accountable for their children's actions. I agree that some parents of children that are out of control ignore the problem, get walked over by their own kids and wonder what went wrong when something like this happens. I have even heard of parents calling the police to have THEM tell the kids that they can't go out that night because the kids don't listen to them. Unbelievable. Obviously this girls has some severe issues and she is in a place where she can deal with them but shame on the parent(s) who let it get this far.

My first reaction was "saw that coming"... I agree that Lally is rude, condescending and has no business being a principal. Perhaps we were spoiled by Mr. Aylward, I don't know, but I do know I was glad to see my child get out of that school after that unqualified buffoon was put in charge.

Does it excuse the girl's behavior? Of course not. She obviously has issues since they didn't just arrest her, but sent her for evaluation. I hope someone watches the security cameras to see exactly what happened to set this girl off. My guess is Lally was having one of her "off" days and the guidance counselor and "hall monitor" happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.(side note - since when is there a hall monitor at that school??- never was in the past four years!! Kids walk around like it's open campus!)

Come on people this is America. You never have to be responsible for your actions. It is always someone elses fault. Remember the old saying the devil made me do it. Well as a society we seem to be leaning to that kind of behavior. If we all hit someone who was rude to us it would make the old west look like a yoga class. Throw the kid out of school and hold the parents and her accountable!!!!!!!!

You must be this girls mother.
She's obviously a disrespectful little betch who has no manners and was never taught to respect her elders.

This girl needs a good ole fashion can of whoop azz.
