<quoted text>All the neighborhood kids would go out together in pinehurst when we were growing up, everybody knew each other there were no worries and the parents would all be at one house hanging out and we would all meet back at a certain house, I remember it like it was yesterday when it was also like 40 years ago.. Good Memories.

I know when I was a kid there was no such thing as set trick or treat hours. I find it strange you actually have to tell people you can only go these times.

Also happy halloween birthday to the others born that day as well :) One of the best days to have a birthday!

OMG, I remember doing that too! It was so different. Remember when you were real little, those plastic masks. They had 2 little nose holes and a slit at the mouth to breath through and they would get all wet and gross inside! Ah, the good ole days!
LOL yes I remember wearing those

If it's not in your local newspaper call the police station and ask them, they might know.

I really hate this "holiday" I need to exile myself from my home once a year. I offer candy to a kid in the neighborhood on any other night and I will have the police hauling me off or the father at my throat. Can't we end this very twisted America tradition. It is very unhealthy on top of it.

I was thinking on my way home tonight that now the daylight savings time has beeen extended, it's not even dark on Haloween! I grew up way out on the far side of Tyngsboro and we'd have to get driven into civilization (either one of the bigger developments in town or sometimes Lowell) to get any candy. Except we'd hit up a few local houses, especially the old Connell farm where Mrs Connell would give out cupcakes. Apparently nobody ever told her that we have to be careful for poisoned candy, but we trusted her anyhow of course - how could you not?

Wow. We have gotten 11 kids so far. One more than last year. Taking bets as to whether we make a dozen or not. One hour to go....

I'm keeping my door closed this year---with children being on medications and obesity on the rise, I choose NOT to add to the problem...

And before I get slammed---REMEMBER...we didn't have all "that" when we were kids.....and if I had grandkids, I's be hosting a party without candy..
