This is a reply to Rob (United Sates)
It sounds like you feel bad for these prostitutes and junkies. I have no pity for junkies and hookers. As far as I'm concerned they are a waste of human life taking up space and breathing in my oxygen.

Applauding loudly to the Lowell Sun for printing the names of all the "johns" offering money for sex. I'm sure all their families were so proud.

Yes, I agree with that. I wouldn't have wanted to be at their houses when their wives read the paper before cooking diner.

Your wrong, prostitution is not a victimless crime...most likely they don't advertise that they are selling sex but they have diseases, which spread on to other unknown victims...not too mention a majority of them are offering sex for money to support their drug habit, which also leads to thefts, robberies, assaults, and druggies that are littering the streets. Far from a victimless crime! Not too mention the city gets a big black eye from out-of-towners that seek to satisfy their thirst for a quickie by coming to Lowell.
so you still think they only harm themselves? give me a break!

You're wrong. Prostitution brings in scummy criminals from all over the region coming into the city, looking for sex and drugs. It makes neighborhoods unsafe at night and brings down property values and neighborhood morale. It hurts children who have to walk by pimps on the streets. Cleaning up prostitution is important in any city. There have also been recent busts in Woburn and Burlington, MA. I say keep these busts coming.

I don't understand why the Police waste their time arresting the John's. when they should be arresting the prostitutes. There should be stiffer laws against these people, they're just spreading disease. Most of them are dirty disease infested drug addicts. It's a joke. They get arrested, they pay their bail and then they're right back on the street a few hours later. The time the Police waste arresting these people, they could be saving someone else's life.
Um , supply and demand. If the John's weren't around, then prostitutes wouldn't be out there waiting for them. They are half of the equation, and just as responsible.

It is illegal!!!There are penalties !! Dying from aids is a penalty...giving aids to someone else because you don't know you caught it from some skank is the worst you can do. Wake up, mr preacher guy, you spout snippets from scripture, why not say something about obeying laws instead of giving encouragement to lawbreakers.

Gee, why don't we legalize murder too. It's been going on since the beginning of time when Cain killed Abel.
Why do you people take things to extremes???
No one is saying to lagalize murder or other serious crimes.
What was said is, have the workers licensed and required to have regular health screenings so they cannot spread disease. Also, keep it confined to certain buildings.
Let adults enjoy this adult activity, and it would cut down on rape, sexual abuse, etc.
Let's try reading the comment and responding to what it says without making comments that are totally unrelated and WAAAY out in left field.
Can you people do that?

That may be so, but how many prostitutes were arrested and let back out an hour later. If the hookers had more of a jail time or high fine to pay maybe the same hooker wouldn't be arrested two or three times in one night. This would free up the police to do some real crime fighting, like getting rid of the gangs and drug dealers in Lowell. I think that city has gone down hill.

Are you kidding me? Rape and sex abuse are violent crimes, not adult activities. Where do you people come from? Are you saying that if prostitution is legalized that people wouldn't be raped and sexually abused anymore? Wake up, today's society is full of sick & twisted individuals who need to be removed.

Once again, twisted way out of context. It was not stated that rape and sexual abuse are adult activities.
What was said is that sex between consenting adults is an adult activity.
Most countries have legalized prostitution, and it has cut down on the horrible crimes mentioned by giving people a positive way to take care of normal adult desires.
Trying reading WHAT IS WRITTEN and not making a totally unrelated comment.

Lowell needs more cops, hahaha. Let them work the streets who cares. There are more violent crimes going on in the city and they focus on this crap. I pay taxed to have these cops to work, then I pay to lock up these offenders. Let's kill the budget

Don't critcize it, legalize it!

You need to read what you wrote in quote #42. You wrote (Let adults enjoy this adult activity, and it would cut down on rape, sexual abuse, etc.) I think not. Legallizing prostitution wont cut down on any other crime. Legallize it. Sure, make the junkies/prostitutes pay taxes and then when the Johns park to walk up to the door, some gang members will jump him and rob him for his cash. It's a lose-lose situation. You should look at things from outside of the box. The LPD should keep arresting them all and along with their names, they should put their pictures in the paper too.

When all the residents complain that this behavior is rampant in the area, what would YOU suggest they do ??? This isn't just about ruining a guy's fun, this is about stopping the rampant spread of AIDS, hepatitis, and many other sexualy transmitted diseases.
Well said. Entrapment....what a crock of****** I like your bluntness...and it just so happens to be the truth.

Yes lets legalize it so our husbands, sons fathers have one more temptation dangled in there face. Lets brake up homes and families, because it was so much easier to cheat. Lets legalize it so we may spread disease too, even if they do screen for STDS once a month what do you think can happen between the time a woman is tested? Lets make it legal so our daughters, granddaughters, nieces.... have a new exciting career to aspire to. That's just where id want my female family members to work. Now wouldn't that make daddy proud if he walked into one of these joints and found his little angle working there. Yep sounds like a great idea to me.
