This is so sad. My family has been doing business with them for the past 40 years, since they were in the plaza on Bridge St. How I will miss the buttercup squares, frosted gingerbread cookies and chocolate dipped bunny cakes. Thanks for the yummy memories!

"Tis a sad, sad day. Where will I find crimp bread now? I live an hour away now but would still stop by on occasion for that treat. Been a fan of the Yum Yum Shop for 40 years.
Wish then well.

It is a shame when a long standing local business fails! Managing a business now calls for changing with the times and making timely decisions. You cannot continue business as usual, which is what happened here. I never shopped at the Yum Yum because I could get better products at the Hannaford or Market Basket.
Look at the difference between Richardson's Dairy and Shaw Farm. The improvements at Shaw Farm are wonderful. I can walk to Richardson's but choose to drive across Dracut to get to Shaw Farm because their products are better and the buying experience is a pleasure. Too bad the bakery didn't do the same.

Sorry to read that they closed. I used to go to the original Yum Yum shop in Cupples Sq. while growing up, my mother & grandmother sent me there for bread and we all loved the seseme rolls, I enjoyed watching the bread slicer with it up and down blades going a mile a minute. The cakes, pies and assorted pastry's were wonderful. Oh, the cupcakes were fantastic too!

Between the markets and discount places like Sam's & BJ's there is to much competition out there, shows the neighborhood stores are a thing of the past like Diner's with quality home cooked meals.

This is a tragedy! I grew up on the yum yum shop. It was my godmother/aunt's favorite place. She passed away 8 years ago and I continued to go there as it had so many memories of my child hood and my aunt there... I am so sad I cannot continue to go there in remembrance of my aunt. RIP marshmallow creme and sugar donuts. I truly hope the owners decide to try again sometime soon!

I also grew up going to the Yum Yum Shop with my Mother when it was on Bridge St. The string to tie up the boxes came from these tear drop containers that use to hang from the ceiling. The crimp bread, rsisen bread, the frosted gingerbread men with the plastic face, spice cake squares with that wonderful white frosting, the checkerboard cakes with moca frosting was to die for. Please don't close for good. Is there anything we can do as a community???? When I lived in FL, my niece would mail me my (above) favorites. It is a sad, sad day for me.

I grew up enjoying your sugar cookies, crimp bread, lemon cupcakes and especially the gingerbread men. I really miss the product. I recently viewed your facebook page and saw that you mentioned a possible cook book release. Did that every happen? Would you ever be willing to share some recipes?

The best was the Yum Yum Shoppe in Cupples Sq. the bread was great and they'd slice it for you and the best rolls were the Sesame Rolls which were awesome when toasted.

I've been away from Dracut for many years now but will never forget Saturday mornings with my mom. They always included the Yum Yum Shop and a cookie for me. Every wedding/baby shower had pinwheels made from a special bread they made and cut for her. Planning a shower now I had to look up Yum Yum. I'm very sad.
